Blender’s Notes Multiple Sclerosis – WIP:
Steep Me Self Help Tea combinations are a great way to get health benefits outside of the standard tea leaf. The blends in our Work in Progress section are still in their testing phases…. We would love for you to try the blends and give us feedback on how you felt they were working. All of our teas go thru a thorough testing phase to ensure we are finding success in the combination. Once we have 100 people or more testing the blend and we are starting to see the same results in 60 or more of the testers…these blends will move to the Self-Help section.
The blend was built to help reduce inflammation, balance, improve brain function and cognitive ability and reduce anxiety. This blend is based on our Chinese Sencha Green Tea. The reason we use green tea is because green tea is known for having large amounts of the antioxidant EGCG, which has been found to have almost limitless medical and health benefits. These antioxidants are important in preventing cell damage by controlling the production of and protecting the cells from free radicals. Free radicals are molecules that have an unpaired electron, which means they violently seek out another molecule in the body with which to pair off, leading to damage to the cell structure in which they bond. Antioxidants also have antibacterial properties that can help kill bacteria in the body and reduce the likelihood of infection. In addition, the caffeine levels in green tea are beneficial to brain function, improving mood, memory, reaction time, and focus. The L-theanine in green tea works to relieve anxiety by increasing the production of dopamine, which improves mood and overall satisfaction, leading to a more positive outlook. Both of these substances can also lead to better weight control, keeping a body more fit and able. In relation to MS, it can help with brain function, cognitive ability, mood and anxiety.
Into this blend we have added cranberries, which are enriched with multiple minerals, organic compounds and antioxidants which improve especially the bladder control- uncontrollability of which is one of the highly debilitating symptoms of MS. Schizandra (Schisandra) berry which has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties plus it may also have a neuroprotective ability. Bilberry has been used to treat everything from vision problems and scurvy to diarrhea and circulation problems. Bilberry is rich in antioxidants and has the potential to improve vision, reduce inflammation and protect cognitive function.
Along with these herbs we included Agrimony because of its use in treating a variety of health problems and has properties of antiviral, antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, and metabolism-boosting. Catnip for MS Pain management. Chamomile for its antioxidant and antibacterial effects, and it’s also being studied for its ability to prevent tumor growth and mouth ulcers in people with cancer. Cramp bark is used to treat cramps and spasms. and its antioxidants and anticancer effects that may inhibit the growth of tumors or lesions. Dandelion has been used in Korean medicine for energy improvement and general health, and it may reduce fatigue and promote immune health. Research also suggests that dandelion has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, and but the plant does appear to have some medicinal properties that might be helpful to individuals with MS symptoms. Ginkgo biloba is another herbal supplement that people with MS can take to help address symptoms such as fatigue and a decline in brain function. Turmeric is a popular spice containing curcuminoids. Curcuminoids have been shown to have neuroprotective effects. Its anti-inflammatory abilities also show promise for the alleviation of MS symptoms. Ginger is often considered to be a first line natural remedy because of its wondrous anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective properties. It is also considered to be highly useful and beneficial in conditions like nervous discomfort, pain in the joints, digestive system issues and nausea. Because these symptoms are also commonly observed in sufferers of MS therefore ginger use is highly recommended for patients of MS. Ashwagandha for its ability to help with chronic pain, fatigue, inflammation, stress relief and anxiety.

Recommended Use
Hi and thank you for choosing Steep Me a Cup of Tea.
I wanted to give a little use information on the tea you chose.
A serving size is considered 2-3 teaspoons in 12-18 ounces of water, this tea likes 200+ degrees for 10 minutes. We do not spray flavorings on our teas, so time is crucial as we are using wild crafted/organic teas and herbs. Once the 10 minutes is up, the tea likes to stay in your “bath” of choice and continue soaking, start drinking me and keeping adding water. Once my 10 minutes in hot water is up, feel free to pour me over ice, leave me in the water and keep adding them cold water as I will make more than cup.
The Multiple Sclerosis Tea was built with puerh, so it is not caffeine free. We recommend that you drink it consistently – so daily is best. The tea can be drank all day but, probably not before bed since it may keep you awake! The blend was built to help reduce inflammation, balance, improve brain function and cognitive ability and reduce anxiety.
