Description
Blender’s Notes LuvBug Ur Skin ~ Skin Salve:
Steep Me Self-Help combinations are a wonderful way to get health benefits outside of the standard tea leaf. This combination of herbs helps with a variety of skin ailments where the skin is open, inflamed, or painful. This Salve can also help with HidradenitisĀ suppurativa or Acne Inversa. What is Hidradenitis suppurativa? Hidradenitis suppurativa (hi-drad-uh-NIE-tis sup-yoo-ruh-TIE-vuh), also known as acne inversa, is a condition that causes small, painful lumps to form under the skin. The lumps usually develop in areas where your skin rubs together, such as the armpits, groin, buttocks, and breasts. The lumps heal slowly, recur, and can lead to tunnels under the skin and scarring. Hidradenitis suppurativa tends to start after puberty, usually before age 40. It can persist for many years and worsen over time. It can affect your daily life and emotional well-being. Combined medical and surgical therapy can help manage diseases and prevent complications. Women are three times more likely to develop hidradenitis suppurativa, though this ratio can differ by location around the world. Also, Black people are more likely to develop this disease than people of other races. This could be attributed to genetic factors. Hidradenitis suppurativa can affect one or several areas of the body. Signs and symptoms of the condition include:
- Blackheads appear in small, pitted areas of skin, often appearing in pairs.
- Painful pea-sized lumps. The condition usually starts with a single, painful lump under the skin that persists for weeks or months. More bumps may form later, usually in areas where you have more sweat and oil glands or where the skin rubs together, such as the armpits, groin, buttocks, and breasts.
- Leaking bumps or sores. Some bumps or sores get bigger, break open, and drain pus with an odor.
- Over time, tunnels might form under the skin, connecting the lumps. These wounds heal slowly, if at all, and drain blood and pus.
Some people with this condition experience only mild symptoms. The cause of the disease is highly variable. Hidradenitis suppurativa – Symptoms and causes – Mayo Clinic
We added Organic White Beeswax. The Beeswax can support skin health in hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) by forming a protective barrier, reducing moisture loss, and offering antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Beeswax-based salves can help soothe irritated skin, promote wound healing, and reduce bacterial growth. White beeswax is a strong occlusive, meaning it locks in hydration and prevents trans epidermal water loss (TEWL). This helps keep skin supple and reduces dryness. It can also create a breathable protective layer that shields skin from environmental irritants and pollutants, and it is non-comedogenic, meaning it does not clog pores, making it suitable for acne-prone or sensitive skin. Beeswax contains compounds that may reduce bacterial growth on the skin, which is important since HS lesions are prone to secondary infections while calming redness and irritation, potentially soothing inflamed HS nodules. Plus, Beeswax has high Vitamin A content which supportsĀ cellular repair and wound healing, which may help with HS-related lesions. Beeswax provides barrier protection, propolis adds antimicrobial activity, and egg yolk oil accelerates tissue repairātogether forming a layered HS-supportive salve.
We added Cold Pressed Sesame Oil. Sesame oil may help support skin health because it is choked full of natural emollient to keep skin hydrated and protected. Cold Pressed Sesame oil is rich in bioactive compounds that make it relevant for inflammatory skin conditions like HS. It contains sesamol, sesamin, and vitamin E, which help reduce cytokine-driven inflammation. This may calm HS flare-related redness and swelling. Sesame Oil is high in polyphenols and vitamin E, this helps neutralizes free radicals, reducing oxidative stress that worsens chronic lesions. Sesame oil can inhibit certain bacteria and fungi, potentially lowering secondary infection risk in HS lesions and can promote tissue repair and barrier restoration while preventing dryness and protecting fragile skin around HS nodules. Gentle application may reduce friction in HS-prone areas (armpits, groin), though care must be taken to avoid occlusion and blending it with beeswax can make it very soothing to problem areas.
We added Mangosteen Berry Oil. Mangosteen berry oil is rich in xanthones, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory compounds that may help reduce oxidative stress, calm inflammation, and support wound healing in hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana), often called the āQueen of Fruits,ā has been studied for its skin benefits due to its unique phytochemistry because it contains Xanthones (α-mangostin, γ-mangostin) which are potent antioxidants that reduce free radical damage, which is elevated in chronic inflammatory conditions like HS.Ā These Xanthones and polyphenols inhibit pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-6), potentially calming HS flare-related swelling, and redness. Mangosteen extracts show activity against Staphylococcus aureus and other bacteria, relevant since HS lesions are prone to secondary infections and because they contain ratty acids and antioxidants, it promotes collagen synthesis and tissue repair, aiding recovery from draining HS nodules. In a healing salve, Mangosteen Berry helps restore skin hydration and resilience, reducing irritation around HS-prone areas. Plus, mangosteen berry may help reduce post-lesion hyperpigmentation and scarring.
We added Propolis Oil. Propolis Oil may help support hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) skin care by offering anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and wound-healing properties. It can soothe flare-related irritation, reduce bacterial growth, and promote tissue repair. Propolis is a resin-like substance bees used to build hives, and when extracted into oil, it carries bioactive compounds that benefit inflamed or damaged skin. Propolis reduces pro-inflammatory cytokines, which may help calm HS flare-related swelling and redness, and it inhibits bacterial growth, including Staphylococcus aureus, relevant since HS lesions are prone to secondary infections. Propolis supports collagen production, aiding wound closure and tissue repair in draining HS nodules. Propolis is rich in flavonoids and phenolic compounds and propolis neutralizes free radicals, reducing oxidative stress that worsens chronic lesions. When using it in a salve, it really helps restore hydration and resilience, protecting fragile HS-prone skin. Beeswax provides barrier protection, propolis adds antimicrobial activity, and egg yolk oil accelerates tissue repairātogether forming a layered HS-supportive salve.
We added Egg Yolk Oil. Egg Yolk Oil is rich in bioactive lipids, vitamins, and growth factors that can help soothe irritated lesions, accelerate tissue repair, and protect fragile HS-prone skin. Egg yolk oil is derived from the lipid fraction of egg yolks and contains a unique mix of compounds relevant to inflammatory skin conditions. It is rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, phospholipids, and cholesterol. Egg yolk oil promotes epithelial regeneration and collagen synthesis. These bioactive lipids reduce local inflammation, which may help calm HS flare-related swelling and redness and can inhibit bacterial growth, potentially lowering secondary infection risk in HS lesions. Egg Yolk’s lipid profile mimics natural skin lipids, helping restore barrier integrity and prevent trans epidermal water loss (TEWL) and its high vitamin content of A, D, and E, which support cellular repair, antioxidant protection, and tissue resilience. We combined Egg yolk oil with beeswax and propolis in this HS-specific balms to reduce drainage and pain. Plus, it will help reduce scarring and hyperpigmentation after HS lesions heal. Beeswax provides barrier protection, propolis adds antimicrobial activity, and egg yolk oil accelerates tissue repairātogether forming a layered HS-supportive salve.
We added Grapeseed Oil. Grapeseed Oil is lightweight, non-comedogenic, and rich in polyphenols and vitamin E, making it suitable for soothing irritated lesions, reducing oxidative stress, and protecting fragile HS-prone skin. Grapeseed oil is pressed from the seeds of grapes and contains compounds highly relevant to inflammatory skin conditions. It is rich in linoleic acid and polyphenols, it reduces cytokine-driven inflammation, potentially calming HS flare-related redness, and swelling. Grapeseed Oil contains proanthocyanidins and vitamin E, which neutralize free radicals and reduce oxidative stress that worsens chronic lesions. Grapeseed oil shows activity against bacteria and fungi, helping lower secondary infection risk in HS lesions and its fatty acid profile promotes collagen synthesis and tissue repair, aiding recovery from draining nodules. Plus, it is lightweight and non-comedogenic, it restores hydration without clogging poresāimportant for HS-prone areas. Blended with beeswax or propolis, it forms soothing balms that protect and heal HS lesions.
We added Clove Oil. Clove Oil was included because it can help reduce bacterial growth, calm inflammation, and relieve pain in lesions. Clove oil (from Syzygium aromaticum) contains eugenol, its primary active compound. Eugenol has strong antibacterial and anti-fungal effects, potentially reducing secondary infections in HS lesions and it inhibits pro-inflammatory mediators (like prostaglandins), which may help calm redness and swelling during HS flares. Eugenol is widely used for its numbing effect; topically, it may reduce HS lesion pain. Clove oil neutralizes free radicals, reducing oxidative stress that worsens chronic inflammation and has shown enhanced tissue repair. Blended with beeswax or propolis, clove oil may add antimicrobial and analgesic benefits to HS-supportive balms. And it is perfect for spot application which will help reduce discomfort from draining nodules.
We added Lavender Oil. Lavender Oil can help calm flare-related irritation, reduce bacterial growth, and promote tissue repair. Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) essential oil contains linalool and linalyl acetate, which drive its therapeutic effects. Lavender oil reduces pro-inflammatory cytokines, helping calm redness and swelling during HS flares and it inhibits bacteria and fungi, including Staphylococcus aureus, relevant since HS lesions are prone to secondary infections. Lavender oil has mild numbing effects, which may ease discomfort from draining nodules and promote collagen synthesis and accelerates tissue repair, aiding recovery of HS lesions. Lavender Oil polyphenols neutralize free radicals, reducing oxidative stress that worsens chronic inflammation. Blended with beeswax or propolis, lavender oil can add antimicrobial and soothing effects to this HS-supportive balms.
We added Myrrh Oil. Myrrh Oil can help calm flare-related irritation, reduce bacterial growth, and promote tissue repair.Ā Myrrh (Commiphora myrrha) oil has been used medicinally for centuries, and its essential oil contains sesquiterpenes and terpenoids that make it relevant for inflammatory skin conditions. Myrrh oil reduces pro-inflammatory cytokines and modulates immune responses, potentially calming HS flare-related swelling, and redness. Myrrh Oil hasĀ activity against bacteria and fungi, including Staphylococcus aureus and Candida, which are relevant since HS lesions are prone to secondary infections. Myrrh oil may help reduce discomfort from draining nodules and it enhances fibroblast activity and collagen synthesis, aiding tissue repair, and closure of HS lesions. Myrrh Oil can neutralize free radicals, reducing oxidative stress that worsens chronic inflammation. When it is blended with beeswax or propolis, myrrh oil can add antimicrobial and wound-healing effects to HS-supportive balms. Myrrh Oil has regenerative properties which may help reduce scarring and hyperpigmentation after lesions heal and it works well with lavender for layered anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial support

When talking about the many types of tea, Tisane (Herbal Infusion) or Herbal Tea or Self-Help Tea is really not tea at all.Ā It is made like a tea and all the same items are used to make it, but it does not contain the Camellia Sinensis Plant (unless stated), but is simply roots, flowers, leaves, and fruits put together is a combination that is made just like a tea.Ā With that being said…the health benefits of a Tisane or Herbal teas are different.Ā They can vary depending on the ingredients and combination of herbs so there are no blanket health benefits – just depends on the ingredients.Ā Ā
For many, the best part of Tisane or Herbal Tea or Self-Help Tea is the fact that it is caffeine free naturally.Ā Of course there are herbs that can be added to change that.Ā The most popular Herbal teas include Chamomile, Peppermint, Spearmint, and any combination of fruit blends or infusions.Ā Our Self-Help Teas are simply supplemental herbal combinations to aid with an occasional ailment specific to what may be happening in your life.Ā The teas are built to work and are not build with any specific flavorings.Ā The blends are tested to the minimum requirements laid out by Steep Me A Cup of Tea.Ā The taste provided is natural to the herbs present in the blend.Ā No flavorings added.
