Blender’s Notes Cancer Fighter Tincture:
Steep Me Self-Help Tea combinations are a fantastic way to get health benefits outside of the standard tea leaf. This combination of herbs has come with a great amount of research and sourcing. The research began by reviewing many studies done in many countries on Cancer. What it is, how it starts, what herbal options are available and what can be done to help slow or prevent its progress. With that, we have produced this combination of herbs that is unique and very tasty. Next, we followed the research involved by Nurse Rene Caisse from Canada. She developed the Essiac Tea with a self-help blend containing Rhubarb Root, Burdock Root, Sheep Sorrel, and Slippery Elm Bark. We blend this full strength to not miss the healing herbs that this combination provides. This tea has a unique ending and purpose as there may not be an immediate quantifying result. When they built me, they studied some ancient history far from home and one close to home. Five countries of various cancer cell/tumor reducing studies were used and are Japan, China, Taiwan, Africa, and Canada. When studying said countries beliefs in what has shown to reduce the risk and spread of cancer and its cells, all said thoughts went into this Cancer Fighter Tea. As you drink me, my flavor point will be that of a mildly spicy broth, that is intentional. The broth flavor is more accepted by our elderly population as it can be used to make soups ergo getting some nutrition, the spice is cayenne pepper to increase the breakdown and absorption of the herbs. I am not caffeine free, using gyokuro green tea, which is surprisingly high in cancer and brain health antioxidants. I might be best used mornings to early afternoons since caffeine could be an issue for those with caffeine sensitivities. I can be drunk daily if desired, especially those who already are unfortunately dealing with cancer. For those who are not, I can enjoy it 2-4 times weekly, or as desired. Another wonderful way to enjoy this blend is to make it into a soup broth. Many guests steep the herbs into bone broth ~ add more veggies and enjoy as a soup. Also grinding up the herbs and ingesting them has also done wonders for many of our guests.
We used two high quality green teas in this blend. The Japanese Sencha and the Chinese Jasmine Pearl. Green Tea polyphenols have been shown to inhibit tumor cell proliferation and induce apoptosis in laboratory and animal studies. Green tea catechins have been shown to inhibit angiogenesis and tumor cell invasiveness. In addition, green tea polyphenols may protect against damage caused by ultraviolet (UV) B radiation, and they may modulate immune system function. Furthermore, green teas have been shown to activate detoxification enzymes, such as glutathione S-transferase and quinone reductase, which may help protect against tumor development. Antioxidants neutralize free radicals in your body that can cause inflammation and upset cell function. This is how the antioxidants in tea help you stay healthy. Most of the research on tea and cancer prevention has focused on the natural antioxidant epigallocatechin-3-gallate, EGCG. In some studies, ECGC was found to reduce the risk of cancer. Green tea usually contains the highest amount of EGCG, but all teas contain valuable antioxidants. Research has suggested that EGCG regulates cell signaling processes by interacting with various molecules via mechanisms such as inhibiting cell growth, stopping cell movement, and inducing cell death. Jing Zhao and colleagues focused on the effects of EGCG on an anti-cancer protein called p53. P53, also known as the “guardian of the genome,” is a crucial protein that protects against several types of cancer. When cells suffer from minor DNA damage, p53 pauses the cell growth and repairs the DNA to protect the individual cell; when the DNA damage is severe, p53 destroys the cell to protect the cell population. After p53 is produced, another protein called murine double minute 2 (MDM2) quickly binds to one end of p53. This interaction breaks down p53 regularly, so the amount of p53 in healthy cells is typically low. There are chemicals in Japanese green tea known as polyphenols. There is evidence to suggest these agents block certain proteins that help cancer spread and grow. The two proteins most affected are the vascular endothelial and hepatocyte growth factors. Interestingly, both are main factors in cancer promotion. There is also evidence that specific green tea polyphenols like EGCG fight enzymes that are necessary for cancer to grow. Even better, they also kill other cancer cells without harming the rest of the body or interior organs. EGCG is one of the antioxidants that are like Vitamin E and Vitamin C, except that it is much more powerful. There was a study done at the University of Kansas that proved that it is twice as strong as the cancer-killing resveratrol. Resveratrol is found in purple grapes, and it has been a staple of cancer-fighting diets for years. EGCG works in concert with an amino acid called L-Theanine. L-Theanine is the agent in green tea that makes you feel relaxed and can put you in an alert, calm state. It is also known to enhance concentration while reducing feelings of stress. Thus, it is extremely popular among students, lawyers, and people who work in high-stress environments. But L-Theanine is not commonly found in most foods or drinks. It can only be obtained through black and green tea.
The Power of Japanese Green Tea: Cancer Treatment and Prevention – Japanese Green Tea Co.
In addition to these powerful green teas in this blend we included Steep Me Seaweed Blend for its ability to block cancer cell growth. Fucoidan & Fucoxanthin found in brown seaweeds have demonstrated anti-cancer effects and may inhibit cancer cell proliferation and promote apoptosis (cell death) in certain types of cancer cells. Steep Me Seaweed Blend may help regulate estrogen metabolism, which is particularly relevant for hormone-sensitive cancers like breast cancer. This seaweed contains eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and stearidonic acid, which are marine omega-3s linked to reduced inflammation and potentially lower cancer risk. Next, we added in the components of the Essiac Tea Burdock Root, Sheep Sorel, Slippery Elm Bark and Turkey Rhubarb Root. Burdock Root was included and is a part of the Essiac Tea. Burdock Root is highly effective at removing the cancer-causing toxins that accumulate in our digestive systems when certain foods are not properly digested and can stop cancer cells from metastasizing. Burdock root contains quercetin, luteolin, and phenolic acids, which help protect cells from oxidative stress and may reduce inflammation. These compounds have shown promise in lab studies for inhibiting cancer cell growth and preventing metastasis, particularly in lung, liver, and stomach cancers. Burdock may help strengthen immune responses, potentially aiding the body’s natural defenses. Sheep Sorel was also included and is a part of the Essiac Tea. Sheep Sorel is rich in vitamin C, beta-carotene, and anthraquinones, which may help neutralize free radicals and reduce oxidative stress. It can be used to ease inflammation and fever. Contains anthraquinones that stimulate intestinal movement and fluid secretion, potentially helping with constipation. It may help strengthen immunity and may promote urine flow and help flush out toxins and is high in vitamin A and C which makes it excellent for the immune system, which means it can fight cancer. Slippery Elm Bark was included and is a part of the Essiac Tea. Slippery Elm contains mucilage, a gel-like substance that coats and soothes irritated tissues, making it helpful for Sore throats and coughs & Gastrointestinal issues like acid reflux, IBS, Crohn’s disease, and ulcerative colitis. It may improve bowel regularity and relieve constipation and diarrhea, and it may reduce oxidative stress and inflammation. Finally Turkey Rhubarb Root was included and is a part of the Essiac Tea. Turkey Rhubarb contains anthraquinones and sennosides that stimulate bowel movements, making it effective for constipation. Promotes the bile flow and helps cleanse the liver and intestines. Rich in flavonoids and tannins may reduce inflammation and oxidative stress and may ease cramps and control excessive bleeding thanks to its anti-inflammatory effects. Turkey Rhubarb contains tannins and anthraquinones which may help scavenge free radicals, reducing oxidative damage that can lead to cancer. It also contains compounds like emodin and rhein have shown the ability to induce apoptosis (cell death) in cancer cells and prevent metastasis.
Next, we added Dandelion Root. Dandelion roots have potential antioxidants, antibacterial, antifungal, and immune boosting. Dandelions have been used as a remedy to improve upset stomachs, digestive disorders, and skin problems. Dandelion may help to reduce inflammation, cleanse the kidneys, gallbladder, and liver, regulate the metabolism, relieve coughs, and purify the blood Dandelion root has shown the ability to induce apoptosis (programmed cell death) in various cancer cell lines, including colon, liver, breast, and prostate cancers. We also included Turmeric and Cayenne Pepper. Cayenne because it contains capsaicin down to be a powerful antioxidant and is toxic to cancer cells. Studies show capsaicin stifled the growth of prostate cancer cells and even had the power to kill them off. Curcumin has been clinically shown to inhibit growth of various cancer cells including Bone Cancer, Breast Cancer, Brain Tumors, Colon, Liver, Pancreatic, Stomach, Bladder, Kidney, Prostate, Leukemia, Ovarian, Melanoma, and more! Curcumin could block every stage of cancer development, from cell mutation to tumor growth, to metastasis. It can also kill many diverse types of cancer cells by triggering apoptosis (programmed cell death) without affecting normal cells. It is because of these known benefits that curcumin has been the subject of cancer research for many decades. Goldenseal was also added. Goldenseal has an active component called berberine which has shown promise in cancer treatment. Berberine has been found to induce programmed cell death in cancer cells, potentially offering a natural approach to cancer treatment. Goldenseals berberine can inhibit the growth of cancer cells more effectively than chemotherapy drugs like doxorubicin. This berberine can achieve a 91% cancer cell kill rate, significantly higher than traditional chemotherapy methods. Berberine’s ability to inhibit the growth of cancer cells suggests it may have a role in preventing the development of cancer. Steep Me Medicinal Mushrooms were added because they contain polysaccharides which stimulate immune cells like natural killer cells and macrophages. Help reduce oxidative stress, which can contribute to cancer progression. And it may reduce chronic inflammation linked to tumor growth. These mushrooms are effective against sarcoma, breast cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, lung cancer, and pancreatic cancer. It can protect the immune system’s activity from being suppressed by prolonged use of chemotherapy drugs and the drain from cancer itself. Steep Me Medicinal Mushrooms contain PSK & PSP compounds that enhance immune response and improve survival rates, show anti-tumor activity.
Next, we added Horsetail. Horsetail helps to reduce growth, inflammation, and damage in human cancer cells. Antioxidants in horsetail are the main components in fighting cancer, while zinc in horsetail can boost the anti-tumor effect. Horsetail contains compounds that may inhibit cancer cell growth due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Chlorophyll in horsetail may help prevent cytotoxic effects linked to iron metabolism, which has been associated with colon cancer. Kynurenic acid, found in horsetail, has shown antiproliferative activity in lab studies, meaning it may help slow the growth of certain cells. Silica and flavonoids may support cellular health and reduce inflammation, which is relevant in cancer prevention strategies. Milk Thistle was added because it has an active ingredient which contains a wide mixture of flavonolignans such as silibinin, silidianin, silicristin, and isosilibinin. Of all of these, the main active ingredient, silibinin has shown the strongest effects against human prostate cancer cells, human colon cancer cells, human lung cancer cells, and estrogen dependent and estrogen independent human breast cancer cells. Blocks cell cycle progression and induce apoptosis (cell death) in various cancer types including breast, prostate, colon, and lung cancers. May reduce liver and heart toxicity caused by chemotherapy drugs, allowing patients to tolerate treatment better. Silibinin helped suppress the spread of breast and lung cancer cells and those who received silibinin during radiotherapy may have better outcomes. Oregano was also included. Oregano contains the antioxidants of Carvacrol & Thymol which may help protect cells from damage and have shown the ability to induce apoptosis (programmed cell death) in cancer cells. It contains Quercetin which is a flavonoid that can slow cancer growth and enhance the effectiveness of chemotherapy drugs like paclitaxel and doxorubicin. It also contains Ursolic & Rosmarinic Acid which is shown to inhibit tumor growth and improve drug sensitivity in breast cancer models containing carvacrol, a molecule that may help offset the spread of cancer cells by working as a natural disinfectant. We also included Ginger because it contains gingerol and forms zingerone. Gingerol and zingerone are thought to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and therefore may be protective against cancer. Gingerol caused cancer cell death, reduced inflammation, and improved immune function. Garlic is an allium vegetable that may help prevent cancer, especially of the stomach. Allium vegetables contain organosulfur compounds, the chemical that causes eye-tearing when they are chopped. Organosulfur has immune-strengthening and anti-carcinogenic qualities. Next, we added Black Cumin. Black Cumin was added for its anti-cancer properties. It contains Thymoquinone (TQ) which is the most studied compound in black cumin, known for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-tumor effects TQ may help trigger programmed cell death in cancer cells, including breast, brain, and leukemia cells. It may inhibit cancer cell migration and angiogenesis (formation of new blood vessels that feed tumors). TQ can help enhances the effects of chemotherapy drugs like doxorubicin.
Pau d’Arco was added for its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and anticancer properties. It contains Lapachol and β-lapachone which are the primary active compounds believed to contribute to pau d’Arco’s therapeutic effects. It also contains Quercetin as a potent antioxidant also found in the bark. Pau d’Arco compounds can inhibit cancer cell growth and promote apoptosis (cell death) in breast, prostate, and colorectal cancer cells and β-lapachone may enhance the effects of chemotherapy and radiation therapy by sensitizing tumor cells. pau d’Arco may reduce inflammation by regulating immune responses and lowering inflammatory markers like COX-23, help fight bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites—including MRSA and Candida albicans, may help reduce pain associated with arthritis and certain cancers and accelerate tissue regeneration and healing while supporting digestion and cleanse the body of toxins. Next, we added Licorice Root, Licorice Root as an anti-virus, anti-inflammatory, and anti-ulcer agent. These compounds may block autophagy, a process that cancer cells use to survive and spread in later stages. They also reduce inflammation, which is often linked to cancer progression. DNA damage is often done by carcinogens, and licorice root provides protection from that type of damage. Licorice root also contains polyphenols that encourage apoptosis (automatic death) in cancer cells. Licorice regulates the production of hormones from your adrenal glands, and it reduces stress chemicals. Chronic stress often triggers the growth of cancer cells. Licorice Root contains Glycyrrhizin and Glycyrrhizin Acid which have demonstrated anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties. We also added Huang Lian (Coptis). Huang Lian (Coptis) contains anticancer compounds of Berberine (Known for anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects; studied for its role in regulating cell growth and apoptosis (cell death) in cancer cells.), Coptisine (anticancer effects) and Palmatine & Jatrorrhizine (potential anti-tumor activity). These compounds may block pathways that allow cancer cells to grow and divide, encourages programmed cell death in cancer cells, reduce chronic inflammation, which is linked to cancer progression, and modulate gut biome which suggests gut health may influence cancer risk, especially gastrointestinal cancers. Gynostemma was added because of its Anti-Cancer Benefits. Gynostemma compounds like gypenosides may trigger programmed cell death in cancer cells, helping to eliminate abnormal growth. It can reduce tumor size and weight in animal models by interfering with cancer cell metabolism and growth pathways. It may prevent cancer cells from invading nearby tissues and spreading to other parts of the body. Gynostemma enhances the activity of immune cells like T-cells and natural killer cells, which are crucial for identifying and destroying cancer cells. It can improve the effectiveness of chemotherapy drugs while reducing their side effects and is rich in flavonoids and polysaccharides, it helps combat oxidative stress, which is linked to DNA damage and cancer development. Finally, we added in Coleus Forskohlii. Coleus Forskohlii was included because it may influence cancer biology through several mechanisms ~ Activates adenylate cyclase, increasing cyclic AMP (cAMP) levels, which can regulate cell growth and apoptosis (cell death) ~ Suppresses cancer cell proliferation and migration, particularly in lab studies involving breast and lung cancer cells ~ Enhances sensitivity to chemotherapy drugs, potentially making conventional treatments more effective ~ Induces mesenchymal-to-epithelial transition, a process that may help prevent cancer metastasis.
In addition to the above ingredients from the Cancer Fighter Tea we included Hemp and Castor Oil. Hemp Oil and the cannabinoids in the oil may help reduce cancer cell viability and inhibit tumor growth. Castor Oil has various uses including it being a laxative and having anti-inflammatory properties. Next, we included Frankincense because one of its key components acetyl-11-keto-beta-boswellic acid (AKBA), has shown promise for its ability to induce apoptosis (programmed cell death) in cancer cells and inhibit their growth. Frankincense might be particularly effective against certain types of cancer, such as ovarian and breast cancer. Garlic was also included because it contains compounds like allicin, flavonoids, and selenium, which have shown potential in reducing the risk of certain cancers. These compounds have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties that may help prevent cell damage and inhibit cancer cell growth. Cloves were added because they were found to cause cancer cell death and suppress tumor growth in several human cancer cell lines. Sage because it not only suppresses the growth of cancer cells but also stimulate cell death. Finally, we included Rosemary. Rosemary has potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, helping to protect cells from oxidative damage shows strong cancer-fighting activity against human leukemia and breast cancer cell lines.

Benefits
When talking about the many types of tea, Tisane (Herbal Infusion) or Herbal Tea or Self-Help Tea is really not tea at all. It is made like a tea and all the same items are used to make it, but it does not contain the Camellia Sinensis Plant (unless stated), but is simply roots, flowers, leaves, and fruits put together is a combination that is made just like a tea. With that being said…the health benefits of a Tisane or Herbal teas are different. They can vary depending on the ingredients and combination of herbs so there are no blanket health benefits – just depends on the ingredients. For many, the best part of Tisane or Herbal Tea or Self-Help Tea is the fact that it is caffeine free naturally. Of course there are herbs that can be added to change that. The most popular Herbal teas include Chamomile, Peppermint, Spearmint, and any combination of fruit blends or infusions. Our Self-Help Teas are simply supplemental herbal combinations to aid with an occasional ailment specific to what may be happening in your life. The teas are built to work and are not build with any specific flavorings. The blends are tested to the minimum requirements laid out by Steep Me A Cup of Tea. The taste provided is natural to the herbs present in the blend. No flavorings added. This/these claim(s) has/have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.
