Blender’s Notes LushLocks ~ Hair Hydrator ~ Shine Enhancer Oil:
Steep Me Self-Help combinations are a fantastic way to get health benefits outside of the standard tea leaf. This combination of oils was built to help with hydrating your hair and make it shine. For many of us we deal with dry scalp, dry or split ends or just want to tame the fly aways. Whether you are looking to nix dandruff or stimulate hair growth, using essential oils for hair can make your strands stronger and healthier. Hair oil penetrates the hair shaft and provides essential nutrients, leaving your hair soft, hydrated, and shiny. It can reduce breakage and strengthen strands by replenishing lost nutrients and locking in moisture. Oils are known to stimulate the scalp and encourage hair growth. Applying hair oil can soothe a dry, itchy scalp, and some oils even have antibacterial or antifungal properties to help with scalp conditions. Oil can form a protective barrier that minimizes damage caused by heat styling or environmental factors. A good hair oil smooths the hair cuticle, making detangling easier while taming frizz. Essential oils are the perfect ally for restoring moisture, adding shine, and rejuvenating your locks. Applied to the hair via a nourishing carrier oil, essential oils help seal moisture into damaged hair. Massaging the oil into the scalp increases blood circulation, which may improve hair growth. Applying oil to the scalp may also prevent dandruff. Oils play a key role in protecting hair from regular wear and tears. Oiling hair regularly reduces hygral fatigue or the swelling and drying of hair. Oils protect the follicle from surfactants by filling the gap between cuticle cells. Oil helps in scalp health. When you gently massage the scalp, it helps in exfoliation and sometimes helps in reducing hair fall because the oils have fatty acids that help replace lipids in the hair. These are lost due to chemical treatments, styling, or even pollution. Lipids play a particularly key role in making the hair look and feel healthy. They help maintain the shine and gloss of hair, oil helps strengthen the hair shaft, especially in case of frizzy and dry hair. It is most beneficial when the oil is left in the hair overnight. Hair Oiling Benefits, Choosing Oil, and How to Do It
We based this blend on Organic Virgin Coconut Oil. Coconut oil can work wonders for your hair—it is a natural multitasker and is known for its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and omega-3 fatty acids.! Coconut oil penetrates the hair shaft and provides intense hydration. Apply it as a pre-shampoo treatment or leave it overnight for extra nourishment. Tame frizz and flyaway by applying a small amount to the ends of your hair. A little goes a long way here! Massaging your scalp with coconut oil can help soothe dryness and reduce dandruff, thanks to its moisturizing and antimicrobial properties. Regular use can reduce protein loss in your hair, making it stronger and less prone to breakage. It adds a natural luster to your hair, leaving it looking silky and smooth. Next, we included Cedarwood oil. Cedarwood oil is believed to improve blood circulation to the scalp, which can promote stronger and healthier hair follicles. By balancing the oil-producing glands in the scalp, it may help reduce hair thinning and hair loss. Its antifungal and antibacterial properties can help combat dandruff and maintain scalp health. Regular use can potentially help make your hair look shinier and feel stronger. Jojoba Oil was also added. Jojoba oil is a fantastic natural option for hair care! A unique oil that is close to the natural structure of sebum. Jojoba oil is rich in several benefits for skin and can help strengthen the follicles, improve growth, hydrate the skin, moisture and keep the skin saturation levels managed. It is rich in vitamins and minerals, like vitamin E, B-complex vitamins, and zinc, which are known to nourish and strengthen hair. Jojoba oil closely mimics the natural sebum produced by your scalp, making it excellent for hydrating both hair and scalp without leaving a greasy feel. By keeping the scalp healthy and unblocked from buildup, jojoba oil can potentially aid in creating a better environment for hair growth. It helps repair damage, reduce breakage, and add a protective barrier to your hair and can soothe and balance your scalp. We also added Grapefruit Oil. Grapefruit Oil is known for its natural cleansing properties, as it helps remove excess oil and build-up from the scalp. It also has a refreshing citrus scent, which can leave your hair smelling amazing. Plus, the vitamin C content in grapefruit oil may contribute to a healthier scalp, potentially supporting hair growth.
Next, we included Rosemary Oil. Rosemary Oil promotes hair growth, improves scalp health, and strengthens hair strands. Rosemary oil contains antioxidants that may help boost circulation to the scalp, potentially leading to healthier follicles. Rosemary oil improves blood circulation by relaxing vessels and nerves. Better blood flow to the skin means more nutrients reaching the surface, boosting enrichment of follicles and hair growth. Clary Sage was also added because it is believed to promote hair growth and strengthen hair strands due to its potential to stimulate the scalp and improve circulation. Additionally, its antimicrobial properties may help maintain a healthy scalp, and the calming scent can add a relaxing touch to your routine. We also added Lemon Oil. Lemon oil can be a natural and versatile addition to your hair care routine! It is known for its refreshing scent, but it also offers benefits like reducing dandruff, enhancing shine, and promoting healthy scalp. Next, we added Vitamin E Oil. Vitamin E’s antioxidant properties may help reduce oxidative stress, which can contribute to hair thinning. It may also improve blood circulation to the scalp, encouraging healthier hair follicles. Vitamin E oil can moisturize and reduce dryness in your hair and scalp, giving you softer, smoother locks. It also helps repair damaged hair and adds a natural shine, making your hair look healthier and less brittle. Thyme Oil was also included. It can help promote hair health and growth by stimulating the scalp and improving blood circulation to hair follicles. It also contains antimicrobial elements that may help reduce dandruff and maintain a clean scalp. Finally, we added Lavender Oil. It is known for its calming aroma and its potential for its hair-stimulation properties for the head. Lavender oil can improve blood circulation when massaged onto the scalp, which may encourage hair growth. Its antimicrobial properties might help reduce dandruff or an itchy scalp and Lavender oil can leave your hair soft and shiny.
Things that we will never include because we want to keep your skin happy and healthy, here are some items we would never include in our products: Harsh Alcohols: Ingredients like denatured alcohol or isopropyl alcohol can strip your skin of its natural oils, leading to dryness and irritation. ~ Fragrances (Synthetic or Natural): While they might make your products smell nice, fragrances can often cause allergic reactions or irritate sensitive skin. ~ Parabens: These are preservatives found in many cosmetics and skincare products. While the research is ongoing, some people prefer to avoid them due to potential concerns about hormone disruption. ~ Sulphates: Commonly found in cleansers, sulphates can be too harsh and strip the skin of its natural moisture. ~ Physical Exfoliants with Rough Particles: Items like walnut shell scrubs or apricot kernels can create micro-tears in your skin, making it more susceptible to irritation and infection. Hydroquinone (for prolonged use): Though effective for certain skin concerns, extended use without medical guidance can lead to adverse effects like ochronosis which is a skin condition.
