Blender’s Notes Tummy Tamer:
Steep Me Self-Help combinations are a wonderful way to get health benefits outside of the standard tea leaf. This combination of herbs helps with nausea and nervous tummies. This blend was built for anyone of any age. Especially great for Morning Sickness with our Pregnant ladies. The job of the stomach is to start the digestion process. It does this by squeezing food and adding acid to help it break down. But when the stomach squeezes, sometimes its contents can go up instead of down. And this causes nausea and sometimes vomiting. This can be worse in the morning due to acid that has built up in the stomach overnight. It can also be due to undigested food that is still in the stomach of your last meal. Nausea is a way of telling you something in your body that just does not feel quite right. But most of the time, nausea in the morning is temporary and not a major cause for concern. Why Am I Nauseous in the Morning? 12 Possible Reasons – Godord
In this blend we included Ginger. Ginger helps prevent morning sickness in pregnant people, as well as nausea and vomiting induced by chemotherapy. Ginger contains active compounds (gingerols, shogaols, zingerone) help calm inflammation in the stomach lining, which can ease pain and irritation. These compounds help the smooth muscles of the GI tract relax, reducing cramping and helping food and gas move more comfortably. Ginger helps the stomach empty more efficiently, which can relieve bloating, fullness, and upper abdominal discomfort and it acts on serotonin receptors involved in nausea, making it effective for nausea from pregnancy, motion sickness, or general stomach upset. Plus, it may stimulate digestive enzymes and bile, supporting smoother digestion overall. Next, we included Apple because it contains pectin, a soluble fiber that supports healthy gut bacteria and can calm irritation. Steeping dried apples release even more pectin, which may help digestion. This soluble fiber forms a gel that softens stool, while insoluble fiber adds bulk. This combination can ease mild constipation and promote regularity. The pectin in the steeped apples acts as a prebiotic, feeding beneficial gut bacteria and supporting a balanced microbiome, which is key for digestion and immunity. Apples also contain antioxidants that may help reduce gut inflammation and support the intestinal barrier and are high in natural sugars, offering easy-to-digest energy when your appetite is low. Lemon Peel was also added. Lemon peel contains pectin, a soluble fiber that can help reduce constipation and support healthy gut movement. This pectin and fiber can help stabilize digestion and may ease mild indigestion by supporting bile flow and it acts as a prebiotic, feeding beneficial gut microbes that support overall digestive comfort. Lemon peel is rich in vitamin C, D‑limonene, and flavonoids, which may help calm irritation in the digestive tract and can inhibit harmful bacteria and fungi, which may support a healthier gut environment. We also added Lemongrass. Lemongrass tea is traditionally used for upset stomach, cramping, and general digestive discomfort and it may help calm the stomach lining and ease spasm. Lemongrass help protect the stomach from irritation and ulcer‑related damage, including damage caused by aspirin or alcohol. Its natural carminative properties help reduce gas buildup, which can relieve bloating and abdominal pressure. Lemongrass contains citral, which has antibacterial and antifungal effects. This may help when digestive upset is related to harmful bacteria or imbalance in gut flora. Lemongrass compounds help reduce inflammation, which can ease irritation in the digestive tract, and encourage fluid movement through the body, which can help reduce bloating related to water retention. Lemongrass helps relax smooth muscles in the gut, easing cramping and digestive spasms.
Next, we added Peppermint Leaf because it treats stomach pain, nausea, and vomiting. Peppermint’s antispasmodic effect relaxes the smooth muscles of the GI tract, easing cramps and abdominal tightness. By relaxing the gut muscles and improving movement of gas, peppermint can reduce pressure and fullness. Peppermint has been shown to help with dyspepsia (indigestion), reducing discomfort after meals and even the scent of peppermint can reduce nausea in some situations, such as after medical procedures. Peppermint has convincing evidence for reducing IBS symptoms like pain, bloating, and irregular bowel movements and contains compounds that fight bacteria and reduce inflammation, which may support overall gut health. We also added Dandelion Root. Dandelion may help calm inflammation in the GI tract and help with symptoms of gastritis, reflux irritation, and other digestive discomforts. Dandelion Root has been used to manage indigestion, nausea, and poor appetite; bitter compounds may stimulate bile flow to support digestion of fats. Dandelion root contains inulin, a prebiotic fiber that supports healthy gut bacteria and promotes regular bowel movements. Its digestive‑stimulating and mild diuretic effects may help relieve bloating from water retention or sluggish digestion. Dandelion Root contains antioxidants like flavonoids and phenolic acids help reduce inflammation in the stomach lining, which may ease discomfort and it can help reduce water retention, which can indirectly ease bloating and abdominal pressure. Next, we added Fennel Seeds. Fennel Seeds have antibacterial properties and have been shown to decrease conditions like nausea and promote bowel regularity. Fennel seeds have carminative effects, helping prevent gas buildup and making it easier for trapped gas to move through the intestines. Fennel can stimulate gastric juices and improve motility, which may ease indigestion and mild reflux symptoms. Its antispasmodic compounds (especially anethole) help relax smooth muscles in the GI tract, easing abdominal cramps and IBS‑related discomfort. Fennel may help food move more efficiently through the digestive system, reducing feelings of fullness or sluggish digestion and it contains antibacterial and antifungal compounds that may help when stomach upset is linked to harmful microbes. Fennel Seed can help calm inflammation in the digestive tract, which can reduce irritation and discomfort and supports regularity and may ease mild constipation. Finally, we added Lemon Balm Lemon balm can relax smooth muscles in the GI tract, easing cramping, colic, and tightness. This is supported by clinical observations that it helps relieve gas, indigestion, and mild stomach upset. Its mild carminative effects help gas move more easily through the intestines, reducing pressure and fullness. Lemon Balm can help improve acid reflux, stomach pain, nausea, and vomiting in people with dyspepsia. By calming the nervous system and relaxing GI muscles, lemon balm may help food move more comfortably through the digestive tract. Lemon Balm contains rosmarinic acid help reduce inflammation in the gut lining, which may ease irritation and discomfort. Plus, because lemon balm reduces anxiety and promotes calmness, it can indirectly improve digestion, since stress often worsens GI symptoms.

Benefits
When talking about the many types of tea, Tisane (Herbal Infusion) or Herbal Tea or Self-Help Tea is really not tea at all. It is made like a tea and all the same items are used to make it, but it does not contain the Camellia Sinensis Plant (unless stated), but is simply roots, flowers, leaves, and fruits put together is a combination that is made just like a tea. With that being said…the health benefits of a Tisane or Herbal teas are different. They can vary depending on the ingredients and combination of herbs so there are no blanket health benefits – just depends on the ingredients. For many, the best part of Tisane or Herbal Tea or Self-Help Tea is the fact that it is caffeine free naturally. Of course there are herbs that can be added to change that. The most popular Herbal teas include Chamomile, Peppermint, Spearmint, and any combination of fruit blends or infusions. Our Self-Help Teas are simply supplemental herbal combinations to aid with an occasional ailment specific to what may be happening in your life. The teas are built to work and are not build with any specific flavorings. The blends are tested to the minimum requirements laid out by Steep Me A Cup of Tea. The taste provided is natural to the herbs present in the blend. No flavorings added. This/these claim(s) has/have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.
