Blender’s Notes Endocrine Support ~ Micro-Nutrition:
Steep Me Micro-Nutrition combinations are a wonderful way to get health benefits of different combinations of Vitamins and Minerals. With this blend we are providing a healthy and potent blend of minerals and vitamins for managing the health of your entire Endocrine System. We want to manage a balance of the hormones in the body to ensure you are at your optimal level and support your system where you may be lacking nutrition. What is the Endocrine System? The endocrine system is a network of glands and organs located throughout the body. It is like the nervous system in that it plays a vital role in controlling and regulating many of the body’s functions. But unlike the nervous system, it uses hormones instead of nerve impulses and neurotransmitters. Hormones are secreted by the glands of the endocrine system, traveling through the bloodstream to various organs and tissues in the body. The hormones then tell these organs and tissues what to do or how to function. Some examples of bodily functions that are controlled by the endocrine system include: metabolism ~ growth and development ~ sexual function and reproduction ~ heart rate ~ blood pressure ~ appetite ~ sleeping and waking cycles ~ body temperature. The glands of the endocrine system are where hormones are produced, stored, and released. Each gland produces one or more hormones, which go on to target specific organs and tissues in the body. The glands of the endocrine system include the: Hypothalamus. While some people do not consider it a gland, the hypothalamus produces multiple hormones that control the pituitary gland. It is also involved in regulating many functions, including sleep-wake cycles, body temperature, and appetite. It can also regulate the function of other endocrine glands. Pituitary. The pituitary gland is located below the hypothalamus. The hormones it produces affect growth and reproduction. They can also control the function of other endocrine glands. Pineal. This gland is found in the middle of your brain. It is important for your sleep-wake cycles. Thyroid. The thyroid gland is in the front part of your neck. It is especially important for metabolism. Parathyroid. Also located in the front of your neck, the parathyroid gland is important for maintaining control of calcium levels in your bones and blood. Thymus. Located in the upper torso, the thymus is active until puberty and produces hormones that are important for the development of a type of white blood cell called a T cell. Adrenal. One adrenal gland can be found on top of each kidney. These glands produce hormones that are important for regulating functions such as blood pressure, heart rate, and stress response. Pancreas. The pancreas is in your abdomen behind your stomach. Its endocrine function involves controlling blood sugar levels. Some endocrine glands also have non-endocrine functions. For example, the ovaries and testes produce hormones, but they also have the non-endocrine function of producing eggs and sperm, respectively. In this blend we started with our Steep Me Magnesium Blend. Magnesium a miracle mineral for its ability to help correct hormonal imbalances. Here are some of the ways magnesium helps your hormones: When you are in a state of chronic stress, over-reactivity in the body’s Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal (HPA) axis can throw stress hormones into turmoil. Magnesium helps to calm the HPA and return stress hormone production to normal levels, relieving you of anxiety and other stress symptoms. Magnesium is sometimes called the “relaxation molecule” for this effect. Magnesium supports balanced production of the body’s main sex hormones (estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone) by helping the liver metabolize hormones and excrete harmful estrogen metabolites. Magnesium helps to correct thyroid hormone imbalances by boosting the conversion of T4 thyroid hormones to more active T3 forms. We also added in Vitamin C, Vitamin D3 and Vitamin E. Vitamin C is a great hormone balance supplement that helps regulate many hormones. It adjusts estrogen deficiency, reduces adrenaline levels, and controls inflammation. Vitamin C also helps the tissue repair process, improves the immune system, and reduces cortisol levels. In one study, vitamin C was shown to prevent hormone degradation and regenerate estrone, progesterone, and testosterone. Vitamin D3 because it is a hormonal precursor. Vitamin D is used by the body to make calcitriol, a potent hormone capable of signaling over 1,000 different genes to express or suppress themselves, including genes that affect endocrine function and hormonal balance. Healthy vitamin D levels are critical for optimized hormonal balance, reproductive health, fertility outcomes, and even sexual satisfaction. Vitamin E can help with overall hormonal balance by. Chanca Piedra because it supports the liver in its production of bile, which can help the body absorb fat-soluble vitamins like A, D, E, and K. By supporting healthy liver function, Phyllanthus can support the body’s healthy cortisol metabolism, modulating the negative effects of “the stress hormone. Next, we also added DHA Omega 3. DHA Omega3 plays a role in insulin sensitivity and ovulation, two processes that rely on hormone balance to run properly. A systematic review of fifteen studies concluded that omega-3 fatty acid supplementation may improve both insulin resistance and lipid profiles in people with PCOS. Higher intakes of omega-3 fatty acids were associated with better insulin resistance compared to low intakes. Omega-3 fatty acids are believed to improve insulin signaling and regulation by acting on transporters and receptors. Chasteberry because it is often used to treat irregular periods, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), infertility, and other conditions that typically affect females. It may normalize shortened luteal phases by increasing the hormone progesterone. Chasteberry was also found to reduce the secretion of another hormone, prolactin, which may become elevated in certain reproductive disorders and contains substances that bind to estrogen receptors and modulate the hormone. Next, we include Selenium for optimal function of the thyroid gland. It directly impacts the functionality of the thyroid gland, which regulates various body processes. Additionally, selenium is needed for making thyroid hormones, estrogen, and progesterone. Ashwagandha because it is a traditional remedy for hormonal imbalance that has its roots in Ayurvedic medicine. Modern research has found this herb to be effective in boosting thyroid function and balancing adrenal hormones and androgens. Ashwagandha is adaptogenic, meaning that it has a normalizing effect on hormone levels — helping both excess levels and low levels of hormones return to normal range. Kelp because it is a type of seaweed rich in natural iodine, plays an essential role in thyroid function, which regulates hormones, including estrogen. Adequate iodine from sources like sea kelp helps produce thyroid hormones, leading to improved metabolism and better hormonal balance. L-Tyrosine was added because it is an amino acid that has been found to be beneficial for adrenal health. It helps to regulate the production of hormones, including cortisol and adrenaline, which are important for maintaining a healthy balance in the body. L-Tyrosine also helps to improve metabolism, which can help with weight management and energy levels. Bacopa because it may increase thyroid hormone levels and has been shown to help balance neurotransmitters like serotonin, GABA, and dopamine. It also helps balance the level of the stress hormone cortisol and supports healthy adrenal function.
Steep Me Chromium Blend was also added because it is important in carbohydrate metabolism. It stimulates the activity of enzymes involved in the metabolism of glucose for energy and the synthesis of fatty acids and cholesterol. Chromium appears to increase the effectiveness of insulin and its ability to manage glucose. Chromium can increase the activity of insulin, and dietary supplementation with chromium has produced improvements in glucose metabolism which may lower blood glucose being important for overweight people with diabetes. It is believed that chromium may help to reduce a person’s weight by decreasing the amount of fat in the body. Iron helps keep your hormone production and regulation on track, leading to a more regular and less symptomatic menstrual cycle. Tongkat Ali may help to restore hormonal balance in people by working on Luteinizing Hormone (LH) and lowering Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG). This contributes to improved energy levels, mood, and mental clarity, which are essential for both daily life and athletic performance. Steep Me Vitamin B Blend was also added because of the extensive hormone balancing qualities. They help in maintaining hormonal balance in young and older humans, including regulation of stress hormones, support for healthy thyroid hormone levels, and protection against hormonal decline. Vitamin B Complex is needed for methylation, a process in the liver that breaks down excess hormones and cellular waste. If you do not get enough Vitamin B, methylation may no longer work properly, leading to a compound called homocysteine to build up in the blood. Elevated plasma homocysteine levels are tied with estrogen imbalances, and can result in fatigue, mood swings and increased inflammation among other symptoms. Vitamin B plays a role in hormone synthesis and/or regulation and is needed to make certain steroid hormones, and pyridoxine is key in melatonin formation. Most hormonal imbalances in estrogen and progesterone can occur when Vitamin B is lacking. Supplementing can help with perimenopause and menopause with hormonal symptoms alleviate some of the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS), such as mood changes and irritability. It also supports the development of the corpus luteum, which is where all your progesterone originates, and it also works with your liver enzymes to remove excess estrogen from the body and boosts the immune system. Other items Vitamin B address are Reducing inflammation and stress ~ Oppressing estrogen ~ Increasing luteal blood flow ~ Soothing depression, mood swings, and stress related to menopause ~ Relieving the intensity and duration of hot flashes ~ Stabilizing estrogen levels ~ Enhancing the helpful actions of even low levels of the body’s own estrogen ~ Improving mood, sleep, and mental clarity. Semen Cuscutae was included because it helps to provide hormonal balance support and restore balance to the hormonal system by increasing estrogen receptor expression in the hippocampus, hypothalamus, and pituitary glands, as well as luteinizing hormone receptor expression in the ovaries. It may reduce the risk of miscarriage, restore hormonal balance disturbed by stress, increase the effectiveness of drug therapy for anovulation, and reduce bone loss related to hormonal imbalance.
Zinc and Copper were also included. Zinc is required for the conversion of T4 to T3, so a deficiency in the mineral can result in a thyroid hormone imbalance and symptoms of hypothyroidism. Zinc is an adaptogen for several key hormones, helping to rebalance inadequate or excess cortisol, estrogen, and progesterone in women. Zinc also reduces inflammation, providing support for healthy hormone production. Copper is also necessary for the effectiveness of Zinc. The balance between copper and zinc is critical for hormonal homeostasis. Zinc and copper often compete for absorption and binding sites. An imbalance, where copper levels surpass zinc levels, can potentially lead to disruptions in the delicate interplay between these minerals and impact sex hormone regulation. Catuaba Bark was also added. It is commonly used to treat fatigue, stress, and memory loss. Catuaba is found to have antimicrobial, antiviral, antidepressant, antidiabetic, and antioxidant properties. Catuaba is believed to treat or prevent a wide range of unrelated medical conditions. Due to its ability to increase Nitric Oxide (NO), Catuaba has vasorelaxant effects and may help with Erectile Dysfunction (ED). By blocking the reuptake of Dopamine (DA) and Serotonin, Catuaba can increase both of those levels in the brain. It can also fight depression by increasing neurotransmitter levels in the brain (dopamine and serotonin) and by improving regeneration of hippocampal cells. Catuaba is neuroprotective and can help reduce brain damage. Pine Needle was also added because it is an antioxidant, anti-microbial, antiseptic, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal properties, Red Pine Needle is ideal for supporting parasite cleanses, restoring microbial balance, and protecting the body from external pollutants like nano plastics, pollution, and radiation. Its anti-inflammatory properties make it a great immunity booster that strengthens cells, supports cellular function, and improves overall well-being. Finally, we included Gynostemma. The saponins in Gynostemma exert a regulatory effect on the body. They bring a range of biological systems including the nervous, immune, endocrine, and reproductive systems into balance. The rebalancing supports the body’s natural ability to respond to internal and external stress.
