We would love for you to try the blends and give us feedback on how you felt they were working. All our teas go through a thorough testing phase to ensure we are finding success in the combination. Once we have 100 people or more evaluating the blend and we are starting to see the same results in 60 or more of the testers…these blends will move to the Self-Help section.
Steep Me Self Help Tea combinations are a wonderful way to get health benefits outside of the standard tea leaf. This combination of herbs helps build to help maintain and improve eye health. Eye health is the state of your eyes being free of disease, pain, or vision problems. Your eyes are an important part of your health. Eye health is important for your overall well-being, as your eyesight helps you make sense of the world around you. Eye health can be maintained or improved by eating a well-balanced diet that contains nutrients such as omega-3 fatty acids, lutein, zinc, and vitamins C and E. Eye health can also be affected by age-related degenerative diseases, such as macular degeneration and cataracts, which can be prevented or delayed by protecting your eyes against harmful light. Eye health goes together with general health, but a few nutrients are especially important for your eyes. Your risk of developing an eye disease increases as you get older. The most common eye diseases include Cataracts: A condition in which your eyes become clouded. Age-related cataracts are a leading cause of vision impairment and blindness around the world. Diabetic retinopathy: Retinopathy is associated with diabetes and is a major cause of visual impairment and blindness. It develops when high blood sugar levels damage the blood vessels in your retina. Dry eye disease: A condition marked by insufficient tear fluid, which causes your eyes to dry up and leads to discomfort and potential visual problems. Glaucoma: A group of diseases characterized by progressive degeneration of your optic nerve, which transfers visual information from eyes to brain. Glaucoma may cause poor eyesight or blindness. Macular degeneration: The macula is the central part of your retina. Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is one of the main causes of blindness in developed countries. 8 Nutrients That Will Optimize Your Eye Health
This blend is based on a fruity, slightly tangy character of Chinese Sencha Green Tea. Green tea contains antioxidants and beneficial compounds that can help combat sight loss conditions such as retinitis pigmentosa and macular degeneration. Green tea’s polyphenols reduce inflammation and protect against oxidative stress. It contains flavonoids like gallocatechin, which helps protect the retina from harmful blue light. Zeaxanthin and lutein, important antioxidants for the eyes, are also found in lesser amounts in green tea. Drinking green tea may help improve eye health and combat dry eyes due to its antioxidant compounds. We then added Calendula and Chrysanthemum. Calendula because it may relieve eye dryness associated with environmental irritants. It is a great natural remedy for irritated eyes caused by allergies, pool water, dryness, dust, wind, eye strain and even pink eye. The flower blossoms and leaves have been used in ancient medicine systems for millennia. inflammation and soreness and combat eye fatigue. Chrysanthemum because it is quite beneficial for different eye problems including watering of eyes, and spotty vision. Chrysanthemum may help with blurring vision, eye irritation and conjunctivitis. Passionflower was included because it helps relax the blood vessels in the eyes, which can reduce eye strain and irritation. It acts as a nerve relaxer, which can help prevent eye fatigue and discomfort. Passionflower has anti-inflammatory effects that can help reduce inflammation in the eyes. The antioxidants in passionflower help protect the eyes from oxidative stress and damage. Next, we added Bilberry. Bilberry was added because it stabilizes tear production and increases the strength of collagen fibers in capillaries. Bilberry helps build strong blood vessels, improving circulation to the eye, enhances retinal abnormalities, slows the progression of lens opacity and myopia, and improves dark adaptation. Plus, it protects against conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and eye fatigue. Jaborandi was included because it contains a compound called pilocarpine, which stimulates tear production, helping to lubricate the eyes and relieve dry eye syndrome. Pilocarpine helps reduce intraocular pressure, making it beneficial for conditions like glaucoma and it can be used to treat eye strain, irritation, and burning sensations due to overuse.
Next, we added Eyebright. Eyebright which gets its name from the flowers that look like eyes. This herb is a powerful medicine when it comes to preserving eyesight. Eyebright has a long history of medicinal use for eye ailments. It can help with eye complaints such as styes, redness, blepharitis, dry eyes, allergies, and conjunctivitis. Eyebright helps reduce inflammation, which can be beneficial for conditions like conjunctivitis (pink eye). It has antimicrobial properties that can help fight off infections in the eye. Eyebright contains antioxidants that protect the eyes from oxidative stress and damage, and it has been used to treat eye infections, redness, irritation, and excessive tearing. Goldenseal was included because it is a natural antibiotic. Scientists show us that this ancient herb, used by the Native Americans for hundreds of years, has anti-inflammatory, astringent and antibiotic compounds that can be terrific when it comes to improving eye health. Goldenseal is an herb that is used for antibacterial eye support and soothing itchiness caused by allergies. Triphala was included because it helps prevent infections, combats oxidative stress, strengthens eye muscles, and reduces the risk of age-related problems such as macular degeneration and cataracts. Next, we added Fennel. Fennel has been added because it is an anti-inflammatory herb that also relieves pain and sensitivity. Fennel has long been said to provide relief from watery or inflamed eyes, as well as strengthen them. It is loaded with vitamin A, C, and potassium and provides essential nutrients that promote healthy eyesight. These vitamins and minerals play a crucial role in maintaining good eye health and protecting against age-related vision issues. Fennel is rich in antioxidants like flavonoids and carotenoids, which help combat oxidative stress and protect the eyes from damage caused by free radicals. We added Gingko which has been used for centuries for problems with the central nervous system as well as a remedy for eye problems. Ginkgo is a vascular dilator that increases circulation and blood flow to the back of the eye. Ginkgo has been associated with improvements for those suffering from both glaucoma and macular degeneration. Using gingko to help alleviate eye strain will improve your overall vision because tired, strained eyes do not perform at their best! Finally, we added Coleus. Coleus may help lower intraocular pressure (IOP), which is beneficial for conditions like glaucoma. Coleus has antihistamine properties that may reduce allergic reactions, which can be helpful for eye health.
We have had one of our customers who has used it over the last 12 months to help improve the pressure in her eyes. With her consistent use she has seen improvement in how her eyes feel and her vision. This is a maintenance tea and should be drank daily.
