Blender’s Notes Kidney Support ~ UTI ~ Micro-Nutrition:
Steep Me Micro-Nutrition combinations are a wonderful way to get health benefits of different combinations of Vitamins and Minerals. The kidneys are two fist-sized, bean-shaped organs located below the rib cage that have the following functions: ~ Remove waste and extra fluid from your body ~ Maintain a healthy balance of water, salts, and minerals (e.g., sodium, calcium, phosphorus, and potassium) in your blood ~ Produce hormones that regulate blood pressure, make red blood cells, and maintain bone health. The kidneys play a pivotal role in clearing the body of toxins and waste matter as well as helping to regulate blood pressure. According to the National Kidney and Urologic Disease Information Clearinghouse (NKUDIC) website, healthy kidney or renal function can be compromised when the kidneys suffer an injury, are damaged by disease such as diabetes or hypertension or polluted through poisoning from various ingested chemicals. You can include some of the best supplements and foods in your daily routine to restore and maintain kidney health. This combination of herbs helps with various stages of chronic kidney disease (CKD). Chronic Kidney Disease is an umbrella term for any condition resulting in kidney damage, and increased kidney dysfunction over time. CKD may progress through five stages over time, and can eventually lead to stage five, known as end-stage renal disease (ESRD). ESRD is characterized by total kidney failure and requires dialysis treatment or a kidney transplant. Healthy kidneys that are functioning well filter about one half-cup of blood every minute — that is around 150 quarts per day. As your kidneys filter your blood, they remove waste products and any extra fluid. All this filtering happens in tiny units called nephrons. The kidneys’ job is critically important. In addition, your kidneys also remove acid that is produced by the cells of your body and maintain a healthy balance of water, salts, and minerals — such as sodium, calcium, phosphorus, and potassium — in your blood. What is a UTI? UTIs happen when bacteria from the skin or rectum enter the urethra. You can get an infection along any part of the urinary tract, but bladder infections are the most common and we included vitamins and minerals to help aid this diagnosis.
In this blend we have included Ashwagandha and Astralagus. Ashwagandha and Astralagus will give you adrenal glands nutritional support. The Adrenal glands play a part in your body’s response to that stress and influence immune health, sleep patterns, and mood. When they work overtime, you may experience something called adrenal fatigue. This can leave you with low energy levels, a weaker immune system, and an inability to adapt to stress. Taking adaptogenic herbs is one of the best ways to care for your adrenal glands and combat stress and make it easier on your kidney function. We also added Vitamin C. Vitamin C has many antioxidant properties that are vital for protecting the kidneys, lungs, and other organs against inflammation and oxidative stress. It also helps stabilize the body’s metabolism, creating a healthy internal environment. Vitamin C supports the kidneys and helps keep them clear of kidney stones, especially urate stones which form because of uric acid crystal deposits. While keeping blood pressure in check is important for kidney health, so is maintaining the health of the cells that make up your kidneys. Vitamin C is essential for the formation of collagen, which is a protein necessary for making cell membranes. Vitamin C is also an antioxidant that protects cells, including those in your kidneys, from free radicals. Vitamin C helps with UTI infections because it is thought to enhance the acidity of urine, thus deterring the growth of E. coli, while also bolstering the immune system. Cayenne Pepper because it has potential to improve blood circulation, reduce inflammation, and provide antioxidant support which makes it an ally in maintaining optimal kidney function. Next, we added Iron. Iron can help prevent anemia and support kidney health. When the kidneys are damaged, they produce less erythropoietin, a hormone that signals the bone marrow to make red blood cells. A lower-than-normal red blood cell count can lead to anemia. Iron is an essential component of hemoglobin, a type of protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen from the lungs to the tissues. We included Bearberry (Uva Ursi). Bearberry is derived from a type of wild, flowering shrub that grows across various parts of Europe, Asia, and North America. It does contain arbutin which can be used to help maintain a healthy microbial balance within the urinary system and allantoin. Uva Ursi is thought to calm inflammation and irritation in the mucous membranes of the bladder and the rest of the urinary tract and fight infection, and it also has a diuretic effect that supports overall kidney function. Steep Me Potassium Blend has been added because it is a necessary element of electrolyte balance and pH balance of urine. Potassium supplementation can potentially help reduce the formation of kidney stones, especially in people who experience recurring episodes.
Calcium has been added because it is a dietary phosphate binder. Phosphate binders help reduce the amount of phosphorus available for absorption in the gut. Plus, it can help reduce formation of kidney stones. Alon with helping this Calcium be absorbed we included our Vitamin D3 Blend. Vitamin D3 helps because it is essential for bone health and helps your kidneys function properly. Vitamin D3 is essential in regulating parathyroid hormones, and absorbing calcium and phosphorus in our daily diets. Next, we included Moringa. Moringa is a species of tree cultivated across Asia, Central America, and Africa for food and medicine. Moringa may protect against kidney toxicity caused by OTC painkillers, can help decrease blood levels of urea and creatinine (waste products). Turmeric helps reduce inflammation and detox the kidneys. We also added Extra Orange Citrus to help prevent the formation of gallbladder and kidney stones. Citric acid can help remove heavy metals and upping your Vitamin C from above can help protect against UTIs. R-Alpha Lipoic Acid was added because it is an antioxidant linked to improved nerve function, slowed skin aging, and reduced inflammation. Plus, ALA has shown that it may increase the activity of antioxidant enzymes that protect against oxidative stress and oxidative disorders. Finally, we added in our Steep Me Vitamin B blend. This Vitamin B Blend can help prevent anemia and support kidney health, together with iron from above to help prevent anemia, a condition that can occur with chronic kidney disease and to help prevent kidney stones, to reduce levels of the metabolite homocysteine, which is strongly associated with cardiovascular disease and dramatically elevated in individuals with kidney disease or kidney failure.
