In this blend we started with Cramp Bark. Cramp Bark derived from the plant Viburnum opulus, is a traditional herbal remedy known for its antispasmodic properties, making it particularly effective for relieving menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhea). Cramp bark contains compounds like methyl salicylate, which have pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects. This makes it useful for easing the muscle spasms associated with menstrual cramps. Agrimony was also added for its anti-inflammatory and astringent properties might help reduce menstrual pain and discomfort. Marjoram was added because it has analgesic (pain-relieving) properties that can help reduce the pain associated with menstrual cramps. It helps relax the muscles, which can alleviate the cramping and discomfort during menstruation. Marjoram has anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce inflammation in the uterus, further easing menstrual pain. Marjoram may help regulate menstrual cycles and restore hormonal balance, which can be beneficial for women with irregular periods. Corydalis because it is an effective analgesic, sedative, and hypnotic, useful in the treatment of headache, insomnia, and dysmenorrhea. Thus, it is especially applicable for the treatment of headache and migraine associated with menstruation, and general menstrual pain. California Poppy was added because it is known for its calming and mild pain-relieving properties and it is often used to promote relaxation and improve sleep, it also has potential benefits for managing pain, including menstrual pain or dysmenorrhea. The plant contains alkaloids that interact with GABA receptors in the brain, which can help reduce pain and promote relaxation and its general pain-relieving properties suggest it might offer some relief. Strawberry leaf was added because it contains iron, which can help combat anemia and support overall menstrual health. Additionally, strawberry leaves have been traditionally used to alleviate menstrual issues due to their diuretic properties and ability to stimulate metabolism.
Next, we also included Chaste Berry. Chaste Berry can help with menstrual issues, including dysmenorrhea (painful periods). It works by influencing hormone levels, particularly by reducing prolactin and balancing estrogen and progesterone. Chasteberry has anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce menstrual pain.
