Blender’s Notes Milk-In-It ~ Breastfeeding Capsules:
Steep Me Self-Help combinations are a fantastic way to get health benefits outside of the standard tea leaf. This combination of herbs was built to help the body work more efficiently to ensure the proper amount of milk supply. There can be many reasons why milk production can lower, and it can be tied to starting of the menstrual cycle, adding in birth control or the obvious one of stress. The herbs we added to this blend will help address these substantial chances. We used our most popular caffeine free Chai to ensure we have a great taste not like other blends on the market. This blend contains Fenugreek Seed. Fenugreek is the most widely recommended herb used as a galactagogue – milk boosting herb. Fenugreek may stimulate sweat gland activity; since mammary glands are modified sweat glands, this can enhance milk production. Fenugreek contains phytoestrogens, plant compounds like estrogen, which also support lactation. This Herb is also on the GRAS certification list with the FDA making it one of the most studied and effective herbs for increasing breast milk supply. Next, we added in Fennel Seed. Fennel is a sweet, black licorice tasting herb considered indigenous to the shores of the Mediterranean Sea but is noticeably light in this recipe. Fennel seeds contain anethole, which is a traditional galactagogue herb that may help increase breast milk supply, due to its phytoestrogen and essential oil compounds (like anethole) that mimic estrogen and stimulate prolactin, the hormone responsible for lactation. We also included Milk Thistle. Milk thistle (Silybum marianum) has been traditionally used as a galactagogue to support breast milk production. Milk Thistle contains silymarin which may increase prolactin levels, the hormone responsible for milk synthesis and by supporting hormonal balance, milk thistle could encourage milk flow. In the body, the liver metabolizes hormones involved in lactation and milk thistle’s hepatoprotective effects (antioxidant and anti-inflammatory) may indirectly improve milk production!
In addition to the above ingredients, we also included Chamomile because it is considered a galactagogue, which may help increase breast milk production. Chamomile is known for its calming properties and may improve postpartum sleep quality. Adequate rest supports hormonal balance and consistent breastfeeding and can help soothe an upset stomach. It can help alleviate various gastrointestinal issues such as indigestion, nausea, and acid reflux. Chamomile contains compounds that reduce inflammation, which can help with conditions like arthritis and muscle spasms. Drinking chamomile tea may help reduce menstrual cramps and discomfort. Chamomile contains apigenin, a compound that calms the nervous system so the lower stress and anxiety can indirectly improve milk let‑down and supply. Plus, traces of chamomile can pass into breast milk which can help reduce colic symptoms in infants. We added in Anise seed (Pimpinella anisum) because it has a long history as a galactagogue herb, traditionally used to support breast milk production. Anise contains anethole, a compound that mimics estrogen and may stimulate prolactin, the hormone responsible for milk synthesis. Anise works the same as fennel for lactation. Anise seed can reduce gas, bloating, and indigestion in mothers and it has trace compounds that may pass into breast milk, potentially soothing infant colic. Anise has mild calming effects that may reduce stress and improve let‑down reflex. Red Raspberry Leaf was added to help promote uterine health and milk production. Traditionally used to tone the uterus and support healing after childbirth it helps reduce postpartum bleeding and aids in tissue recovery, which indirectly supports energy for breastfeeding. Red Raspberry Leaf is rich in vitamins (C, E, B-complex) and minerals (calcium, magnesium, iron, potassium) which help strengthen maternal health, which can indirectly sustain milk production. It also contains fragarine, a compound that may help regulate uterine contractions and balance reproductive hormones which can provide hormonal stability which then supports overall breastfeeding success. Ginger was added and it may help treat digestive problems, boost immunity, and reduce allergy symptoms. It is used as a galactagogue (a substance that promotes lactation) plus it can aid in digestion, reducing nausea, and having anti-inflammatory properties. Ginger contains gingerol, which has powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. This can help reduce oxidative stress and inflammation in the body. Ginger is well-known for its ability to alleviate nausea, including morning sickness during pregnancy and nausea caused by chemotherapy. It promotes efficient digestion by speeding up the emptying of the stomach, which can help with bloating, gas, and indigestion.
Next, we added in Nettles. Nettles are considered a nutrient-rich galactagogue that can support breast milk production. Nettles have traditionally been used to stimulate milk supply because they are extremely rich in iron, calcium, potassium, potassium, folic acid, vitamin K, B vitamins, and amino acids. These nutrients help restore maternal reserves depleted during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Nettles are also high calcium content supports maternal bone health, while iron and vitamin C help prevent or reverse postpartum anemia and it can reduce inflammation and support overall breast and uterine health. We also added in Cardamom. Cardamom is traditionally used to relieve gas, bloating, and indigestion. A calmer digestive system can improve maternal comfort and nutrient absorption, indirectly supporting milk supply. Cardamom also contains volatile oils (cineole, terpinene) with mild calming effects and help reduce stress which can improve the let‑down reflex, making breastfeeding smoother. Red Clover was added because it can be beneficial due to its rich in calcium, magnesium, potassium, potassium, iron, and vitamin C, which may help replenish nutrients lost during pregnancy and lactation. Red Clover belongs to the legume family, and contains isoflavones, which can help improve bone mineral density and may help maintain good cholesterol levels and improve overall heart health. Red Clover contains isoflavones (plant estrogens) that may help balance hormones and hormonal stability can indirectly support lactation plus it is a “blood purifier” and circulatory tonic which helps support overall vitality, which can indirectly sustain milk production. We also added Rainbow Peppercorns. Peppercorns offer a variety of health benefits due to their active compound, Piperine. Peppercorns are high in antioxidants, which help combat free radicals and prevent cell damage. Piperine has been shown to reduce inflammation, which can help manage conditions like arthritis and heart disease. Piperine may improve brain function and potentially benefit conditions like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. Peppercorns stimulate the stomach to produce more hydrochloric acid, which aids in digestion and helps prevent digestive issues like bloating and gas. Piperine can enhance the absorption of essential nutrients, such as vitamins and minerals, making your diet more effective. WE also included Cinnamon Chips. Cinnamon may help regulate blood sugar and insulin sensitivity, which supports overall hormonal balance. Having stable energy and hormones can indirectly sustain milk production. Cinnamon can help reduce gas, bloating, and indigestion, offering a calmer digestive system which supports maternal comfort and nutrient absorption. Cinnamon contains compounds that improve blood flow and reduce inflammation which supports tissue recovery postpartum. Finally, we included Cloves. Cloves are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. Cloves have insulin-like effects that help in regulating blood sugar levels. They reduce inflammation, aid the digestive process, and can help alleviate issues like bloating and indigestion. They can kill harmful bacteria, making them useful for oral health and preventing infections. The antioxidants in cloves help protect the liver from oxidative stress. Cloves boost the production of white blood cells, enhancing the immune system.

Benefits
When talking about the many types of tea, Tisane (Herbal Infusion) or Herbal Tea or Self-Help Tea is really not tea at all. It is made like a tea and all the same items are used to make it, but it does not contain the Camellia Sinensis Plant (unless stated), but is simply roots, flowers, leaves, and fruits put together is a combination that is made just like a tea. With that being said…the health benefits of a Tisane or Herbal teas are different. They can vary depending on the ingredients and combination of herbs so there are no blanket health benefits – just depends on the ingredients. For many, the best part of Tisane or Herbal Tea or Self-Help Tea is the fact that it is caffeine free naturally. Of course there are herbs that can be added to change that. The most popular Herbal teas include Chamomile, Peppermint, Spearmint, and any combination of fruit blends or infusions. Our Self-Help Teas are simply supplemental herbal combinations to aid with an occasional ailment specific to what may be happening in your life. The teas are built to work and are not build with any specific flavorings. The blends are tested to the minimum requirements laid out by Steep Me A Cup of Tea. The taste provided is natural to the herbs present in the blend. No flavorings added. This/these claim(s) has/have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.
