Blender’s Notes Neuromuscular Health – Muscle Spasms:
Steep Me Self Help combinations are a wonderful way to get health benefits outside of the standard tea leaf. This combination of herbs will help you manage your Muscle Spasms and tightness that can occur all over your body! Neuromuscular disorders represent a broad range of conditions that involve dysfunction of peripheral nerves, muscles or the communication between them. This most often results in muscle weakness, muscle atrophy (loss) and disturbance of sensation (like numbness and tingling). Neuromuscular disorders can cause other symptoms as well, depending on the type. There are several subgroups of neuromuscular disorders based on the area of dysfunction, with several types of conditions in each subgroup. A neuromuscular disorder represents any condition that affects the structure and/or function of any component of your neuromuscular system, including: Anterior horn cells. Nerve roots (including dorsal root ganglia). Plexuses (like the brachial plexus and lumbosacral plexus). Peripheral nerves. Neuromuscular junction. And Muscle fibers. A muscle spasm — also known as a charley horse, muscle cramp or twitch — is a sudden, involuntary movement in one or more muscles. Common causes include stress, exercise, or dehydration, but nerve disorders and thyroid problems may increase the risk. These movements can happen in any muscle of the body, but often affect the calf muscle. They are very common and mostly not a cause for concern. Muscle spasms are very common. They can happen in any part of the body, but they tend to affect the following: hands, feet, arms, thighs, abdomen, intercostal muscles, which are around the rib cage. Muscle pain, fatigue, and overuse are the most common causes of muscle spasms. Other causes include stress or anxiety, which can lead to muscle twitches in the face. Trapped nerves can result in spasms in the back. Muscle spasms: Causes, symptoms, and treatment (medicalnewstoday.com)
The Neuromuscular Health and Muscle Spasm tea was built to help the skeletal muscles and peripheral nerves that control the voluntary movement of the body to calm and relax. The blend will help ease the tightness that can occur while decreasing inflammation and can help manage the weakness, rigidity, and loss of function of these muscles. We are working on the nerves, making sure they are properly nourished and allowing them to release the tension in the muscles and garner greater elasticity. This is not a sleep aid, but it can help with restless leg syndrome if we are not dealing with mineral depletion.
In this blend we start out with Skullcap – Skullcap is an excellent choice for people that have muscle pain and spasms that are leading to insomnia, anxiety, and nervousness. It is known to provide your body and mind with an overall sense of peace and relaxation. People with restlessness, twitching muscles, or hypersensitivity garner some management of these symptoms with this herb. We added passionflower for its documented therapeutic properties. Passionflower can help reduce stress and can therefore be helpful in the treatment of neuromuscular health with its calming, and muscle spasm relieving effects. Next, we added Alfalfa because it is so rich in so many minerals, vitamins, and proteins that it has multiple benefits on the human body. Some of these benefits include improved immunity, protection from anemia, better circulation of blood and arthritis. Valerian Root has been used for centuries to calm nervous disorders. Scientific experiments conducted with laboratory animals in West Germany have demonstrated that valerian root corrects muscle spasms and tremors, reduces excitement and irritability, lowers high blood pressure, and calms the central nervous system. St. John’s Wort is added because of its antispasmodic benefits, and it can help to relax muscles spasms. Next, we added Frankincense because it has anti-inflammatory effects that may help reduce joint inflammation, reduce muscle pain, improve mobility, and enhance elasticity of the muscles.
In addition to the above ingredients, we added Shave grass because of its many natural minerals such as silicon, calcium, magnesium, chromium, iron, manganese, and potassium. These all work together to maintain healthy joints and soft tissues in the body. They even have an astringent effect that can reduce inflammation in the joints. Gotu Kola can help shrink tissues and can help with disorders of the connective tissues in the body gaining more elasticity. It also helps eliminate excess fluid from the body and has many health benefits including stimulating the central nervous system. We added Hops to this blend because they have such a calming effect that can help to relieve muscle spasms and tension. We also added Kava Kava which has great anti-inflammatory and analgesic qualities which makes it a great option for relieving inflammation and pain management. The soothing quality of kava root, which is derived from its kavalactones, can have a major impact on your neuromuscular health helping the muscles calm and relax. Plus, the anxiolytic effects of kava root are the most well-known and desired by users’ herbal practitioners. By managing the hormonal balance in the body and easing the release of stress hormones into the bloodstream. We added Cramp Bark to help treat pain from muscle cramps and spasms. The supplement shows promising potential to relieve pain and help relax muscles and blood vessels, which can relieve pain and reduce blood pressure and it is high in flavonoids and carotenoids that can help prevent and reverse cellular damage in your body and increase your neuromuscular health. And finally, we added Lobelia because of its relaxing effects on the CNS and ANS, it can help ease muscle tension and inflammation, making Lobelia useful for back problems, muscle pulls, sprains, epilepsy, seizures, tetanus, diphtheria, angina pain, and debilitating back spasms. In the initial stages of this blend, we have seen some impressive results.
