Blender’s Notes Anxious Brain:
Steep Me Self Help Tea combinations are a great way to get health benefits outside of the standard tea leaf. The blends in our Work in Progress section are still in their testing phases…. We would love for you to try the blends and give us feedback on how you felt they were working. All of our teas go thru a thorough testing phase to ensure we are finding success in the combination. Once we have 100 people or more testing the blend and we are starting to see the same results in 60 or more of the testers…these blends will move to the Self-Help section.
The Anxious Brain tea was built to help with racing thoughts in the mind when the body feels relaxed – the list process – the overthinking of a task – the dark thoughts of what is to come or what happened in the past. This is different than our Anxiety in that this tea only addresses the mental aspects, where the Anxiety also address the physical aspects tied to this ailment.
In this tea we started with Chamomile, it helps to ease tension and to calm the anxious mind. Studies have shown the use of chamomile to have anxiolytic effects in persons with mild to moderate generalized anxiety disorder as well as having some antidepressant activity. Chamomile is believed to be most beneficial for those who experience anger and inflammation when under stress. Kava Kava addresses acute stress responses, nervous and social anxiety, and insomnia. It is most effective when one is overwhelmed, and muscular tension is present. It also helps us to let down our social barriers – especially helpful when one has social anxiety or stage fright – it is a relaxing herb. Lemon Balm is known to soothe anxiety, nervousness, and depression. It is also said that it gladdens the heart and brings light where there is darkness and softness where there is tension. Valerian Root normalizes the nervous system as it offers neuroprotective, anxiolytic, and antidepressant action. In fact, valerian has been used as a relaxant, mild sedative, and effective sleep aid because of its ability to help soothe frayed nerves and tension and gently lift the spirits which makes it a great herb for those experiencing anxiety. We added Hawthorne because it can be used as a calming nervine to soothe, open, and protect the energetic heart. It works especially well for sadness, grief, and effective in treating mild-to-moderate anxiety disorders. Oat Straw is one of the best herbs for restoring the nervous system, particularly in times of stress, when there are signs of nervous system weakness, or when one experiences depression and exhaustion. It can also help to mellow the mood, ease anxiety, combat the effects of daily stress, and resolve sleeplessness.
We added Ashwagandha because it is an apoptogenic herb that may have the ability to reduce anxiety and improve sleep quality. It can affect systems and hormones in the body that regulate a person’s stress response and can really manage perceived stress and anxiety. Bacopa has been used to benefit cognitive function, this herb is also used to improve mood and decrease levels of anxiety and depression. Skullcap has been used to treat anxiety and various nervous conditions. Skullcap has phytochemical compounds called baicalin and baicalein help for anxiety, tension, or stress; headaches; migraine, panic attacks; restlessness; sleep disorders; premenstrual tension and period pain; and to assist withdrawal from benzodiazepines. Gingko Biloba is one of the best herbs for reducing anxiety, stress, and depression. It can help with reductions in anxiety, apathy, irritability, depression, and sleep disturbances. Gotu Kola has a rejuvenating and restorative influence on the central nervous system and can be extremely helpful for relieving tension, relaxing the mind, and soothing anxiety. Finally, we added Hops. Hops are best known for sedative properties and used today as an herb to promote sleep and calm the anxious mind.
Customer Advice on How this Tea Feels:
Drinking this tea made me realize a difference between anxiety and an anxious brain. As we know both can prevent us from being who we truly are and doing the things we love to do. After staying consistent with the anxiety tea blend I no longer have to turn around on my way to an event because my heart was racing so fast I couldn’t handle it, I feel confident in talking to new people or even someone I’ve hung out with hundreds of times, also feel comfortable in trying new things which is rare. But one thing that stuck around was my racing mind. Literally felt like I was in third person trying to talk to people, even while driving I just did not actually feel “there.” The scariest part was the dark thoughts that I just could not escape from, and as time went, they got worse and worse to the point I was scared I might ‘actually’ harm myself. I gave this tea a chance and overnight it helped so much. I still have some depressing thoughts, welcome to having depression, however the dark thoughts vanished. Even the mild depressing thoughts are manageable, yes, they are there but I can manage them. I really appreciate the steep me family and what they have done for me, I could not take what was happening any longer and thought I would never feel happiness again. Thank you, guys, for what you do and have created, feel blessed to have met you!

Recommended Use
A serving size is considered 2-3 teaspoons in 12-18 ounces of water, this tea likes 200+ degrees for 10 minutes. We do not spray flavorings on our teas, so time is crucial as we are using wild crafted/organic teas and herbs. Once the 10 minutes is up, the tea likes to stay in your “bath” of choice and continue soaking, start drinking me and keep adding water. Once my 10 minutes in hot water is up, feel free to pour me over ice, leave me in the water and keep adding cold water as I will make more than cup.
