Blender’s Notes Respiratory Restriction – WIP:
Steep Me Self Help Tea combinations are a great way to get health benefits outside of the standard tea leaf. The blends in our Work in Progress section are still in their testing phases…. We would love for you to try the blends and give us feedback on how you felt they were working. All of our teas go thru a thorough testing phase to ensure we are finding success in the combination. Once we have 100 people or more testing the blend and we are starting to see the same results in 60 or more of the testers…these blends will move to the Self-Help section.
The Respiratory Restriction tea was built to help with the tightness experienced in the rib cage and the feeling that the bronchia cannot loosen up due to illness or other factors. We have had our customer describe this feeling has a tightening band across the ribs – like a tight belt – or horizontal tightness, not a vertical tightness that can be associated with Allergies or Asthma. We added eucalyptus because the first benefit of eucalyptus for lungs is by being an expectorant. An expectorant is a medicine that helps to bring up mucus and other foreign materials from the lungs, bronchi as well as the trachea. Eucalyptus works as an expectorant by cleansing and draining mucus from the lungs, thinning the mucus, to be followed by lubricating the affected area of the respiratory tract. Eucalyptus products are rich in antioxidants which make it highly effective for strengthening the immune system. The refreshingly fragrant scent of it relaxes the lungs, the mind, and the other senses. Licorice Root and Mullein were added because they are demulcents which may help support our immune system and loosen up the tightness experienced with respiratory restriction. Mullein is also an expectorant which describes the accelerated removal of secretions from the bronchi and trachea. Thyme and Oregano are aromatic properties tend to be stimulating and can be characterized as warming and encourage expectoration. Peppermint aromatic properties are characterized as cooling which can help with conditions while relaxing tightness. This combined with the Licorice Root and Mullein will encourage movement to reduce restriction instead of causing dryness in the lungs.
Echinacea lowers the risk of recurrent respiratory infections and complications thereof or respiratory restriction. Immune modulatory, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory effects might contribute to the observed this relief. We added Ginkgo because it contains elevated levels of flavonoids and terpenoids, which are compounds known for their strong antioxidant effects, helps fight inflammation which may allow for reduced inflammation of the airways and increased lung capacity, and improves circulation. Turmeric Root is known for its high antioxidants that helps to find and neutralize free radicals in the body. By doing so, it reduces the damaging effect of free radicals on lung tissue, its anti-inflammatory response with curcumin that can prevent or reduce inflammation-related respiratory damage, and it is an expectorant, which is helpful if you are suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or COPD. Turmeric breaks down mucus in the airways and facilitates its removal so you can breathe more easily. We also added Lungwort because it has a high mucilage content is known to be useful in respiratory conditions, namely asthma and chronic bronchitis. It can help reduce lung irritation, and boosts antioxidants and scavenges free radicals in the whole body. Holy Basil was added to maintain the respiratory system and avoid any respiratory problems, will clean the airways, in the same way will help prevent congestion. Basil content will lead to clear the respiratory system of any virus, bacteria and infections, anti-allergen, and can boost the immune system. Finally, we added Lomantium which has antiviral compounds are excreted out through the mucosa of the lungs, so it is a fantastic way to help heal the lungs. It has been used as a respiratory aid for its ability to reduce irritation in airways and for its soothing properties. contains antioxidants, which help to fight free radicals. This is great for your immune system and general health and anti-bacterial/anti-fungal properties, with a viro-static effect, meaning that it stops the growth of all viruses, bacteria, and fungus in the body and eliminates the lethal micro-organisms without harming the ones necessary to good health. This has been a fantastic combination for better lung health and helping reduce the tightness in your chest and lungs!

Recommended Use
Hi and thank you for choosing Steep Me a Cup of Tea.
I wanted to give a little use information on the tea you chose.
A serving size is considered 2-3 teaspoons in 12-18 ounces of water, this tea likes 200+ degrees for 10 minutes. We do not spray flavorings on our teas, so time is crucial as we are using wild crafted/organic teas and herbs. Once the 10 minutes is up, the tea likes to stay in your “bath” of choice and continue soaking, start drinking me and keep adding water. Once my 10 minutes in hot water is up, feel free to pour me over ice, leave me in the water and keep adding cold water as I will make more than cup.
