Blender’s Notes Respiratory Mucus:
Steep Me Self Help Tea combinations are a great way to get health benefits outside of the standard tea leaf. This combination of herbs helps the body with any type of help start to remove the excess mucus buildup in the lungs and start to eliminate them. This blend has two expectorants to help cough out the yuck.
We started this blend out with Peppermint because it has an antihistamine effect, coupled with the strong, cooling action of menthol that makes it a useful decongestant plus it tastes good! Licorice root has its own ability to ease congestion and has demulcent properties that soothe a sore throat and inflamed tissues in your respiratory tract. Plus, it has its own power to enhance the effects of other herbs. Mullein is a renowned herb for all kinds of respiratory issues. It is a demulcent herb, which means it soothes and moistens dry or inflamed tissues and has expectorant properties (it helps expel mucus) and it can calm spasms in the respiratory system, and has long been used for chest congestion, spastic coughing, and many other types of respiratory distress. Licorice Root and Mullein were added because they are demulcents which may help support our immune system and loosen up the tightness experienced with respiratory restriction. Mullein is also an expectorant which describes the accelerated removal of secretions from the bronchi and trachea. Thyme and Oregano are aromatic properties tend to be stimulating and can be characterized as warming and encourage expectoration. Peppermint aromatic properties are characterized as cooling which can help with conditions while relaxing tightness. This combined with the Licorice Root and Mullein will encourage movement to reduce restriction instead of causing dryness in the lungs.
We also added Lungwort because it has a high mucilage content is known to be useful in respiratory conditions, namely asthma and chronic bronchitis. It can help reduce lung irritation, and boosts antioxidants and scavenges free radicals in the whole body. Holy Basil was added to maintain the respiratory system and avoid any respiratory problems, will clean the airways, in the same way will help prevent congestion. Marshmallow Leaf can relieve respiratory issues including swelling and pain in the nasal passage and the mucus membranes which lining the respiratory tract. It can ease inflammation and ulceration in the mucosa affected by dry coughs. It is an expectorant and controls bacterial infections. It can soothe irritation of the mucus membranes of the mouth, throat and aid respiratory ailments like asthma and bronchitis. It will form a protective coating over irritated and inflamed mucus membranes. Also, we added Lobelia can help to relax your airways, stimulate breathing, and clear mucus from your lungs. Plus, it is also used to relieve pneumonia and bronchitis, two types of lung infections that cause coughing and difficulty breathing, among other symptoms.
Rosemary works in multiple ways to improve the health of our respiratory organs. Its expectorant activity helps to thin mucus and encourages its easy drainage to clear respiratory pathways. Its warming property soothes a sore throat and lubricates the tract to help in cases where the throat is irritated by excessive coughing. The warming potency of rosemary can also treat cold and thereby helps protect the sinuses from getting inflamed by the cold. Its antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal activities fight infection-causing microbes, while its anti-inflammatory property can soothe inflammations of blood vessels and relieve headaches. Horehound helps the mucus get moving again by loosening it and activating the cilia. At the same time, horehound is stimulating the lungs and sinuses to eliminate mucus, it is also soothing the irritation. We added eucalyptus because the first benefit of eucalyptus for lungs is by being an expectorant. An expectorant is a medicine that helps to bring up mucus and other foreign materials from the lungs, bronchi as well as the trachea. Eucalyptus works as an expectorant by cleansing and draining mucus from the lungs, thinning the mucus, to be followed by lubricating the affected area of the respiratory tract. Eucalyptus products are rich in antioxidants which make it highly effective for strengthening the immune system. The refreshingly fragrant scent of it relaxes the lungs, the mind, and the other senses. Garlic was added because it is an antibiotic that fights against fungal and bacterial infection. And it also protects the body against parasites, viruses, and yeast infections.
Elecampane is an expectorant, so it thins mucus and helps your body clear it from the airways. This makes elecampane an exceptionally good remedy for productive (wet) coughs. In addition, it is proven to help reduce respiratory inflammation, as with pneumonia. Finally, we added Plantain can help reduce mucus secretion in the airways, which makes it helpful in treating colds, catarrh, sinusitis, lung, and bronchial allergic conditions such as hay fever and asthma. This is a complex blend but has proven to give impressive results for our guests. We have been pairing this blend with our Virus Tea to ensure a complete option for any combination of ailments tied to this common occurrence.

Recommended Use
Hi and thank you for choosing Steep Me a Cup of Tea.
I wanted to give a little use information on the tea you chose.
A serving size is considered 2-3 teaspoons in 12-18 ounces of water, this tea likes 200+ degrees for 10 minutes. We do not spray flavorings on our teas, so time is crucial as we are using wild crafted/organic teas and herbs. Once the 10 minutes is up, the tea likes to stay in your “bath” of choice and continue soaking, start drinking me and keep adding water. Once my 10 minutes in hot water is up, feel free to pour me over ice, leave me in the water and keep adding cold water as I will make more than cup.
The Respiratory Mucus will help start to remove the excess mucus buildup in the lungs and start to eliminate them. This blend has two expectorants to help cough out the yuck. Drink as much as you like. I am caffeine free, so perfectly safe to have me in the evenings or before bed. I can be used as many times daily as needed on those tough days.
Thanks for supporting Steep Me a Cup of Tea!!!
