In ancient Egypt, chamomile was considered a gift from the divine. Offerings of the flower were made to the powerful sun god Ra as a form of worship.  King Tut’s sandals were decorated with the bloom’s likeness; and the plant’s oil was used to anoint the dead, including the body of Ramses II.

Pure Egyptian chamomile tastes much smoother than flowers from other sources and has a mild scent. In Ancient Egypt, Chamomile was used to honor the gods, embalm the dead, and cure the ill.  Sacred chamomile is anti-inflammatory and analgesic, helps soothe gastrointestinal upset, and its calming effect, which can help reduce anxiety and promote restful sleep.
