Blender’s Notes Feelin’ Good:
Steep Me Self-help Tea combinations are a great way to get health benefits outside of the standard tea leaf. This combination of herbs helps you – our athletes – get your bodies to recover sooner. In this blend we have added our Peach Green Tea. Green tea can help boost our metabolic rate and is the perfect option for before, during and after exercise. It can also improve cognitive functioning and help keep us keep motivated, it can support endurance and has been shown to have a slightly anabolic (muscle-building) effect. Along with Green Tea, we also added in Caffeine-Free African Rooibos also known as red tea, hails from South Africa, where it is an extremely popular beverage. Rooibos can help combat inflammation and neutralize free radicals, thereby reducing post-workout muscle damage. These antioxidants have been linked to accelerated muscle recovery, allowing athletes to bounce back quicker and train at their full potential. Rooibos contains antioxidants that fight inflammation and boost circulation, to help heal damaged tissues. It also has a high concentration of magnesium and zinc, which aid in testosterone production, important for the body’s durability and ability to recover, along with calcium and manganese, important for bone health. Additionally, rooibos helps the body absorb iron, which enhances oxygen delivery to muscles. We also added in a Chinese Oolong. Oolong is a major source of theanine, an amino acid that crosses the blood-brain barrier where it can have a calming and memory-boosting influence while helping athletes also improve focus. Finally, the last tea we added is South American Yerba Mate Tea with Raspberry. Yerba Mate or Guayusa has traditionally been consumed by Indigenous peoples of the region for mental strength and courage, Guayusa has twice the antioxidants of green tea and, with about thirty fewer mg of caffeine per cup than coffee, it provides sustained, crash-free energy. It also offers chlorogenic acids and amino acids, which promote cardiovascular health and blood circulation.
Along with the above teas we added Rhodiola. Rhodiola is a natural anti-inflammatory herb that helps increase energy and athletic performance, reduce cortisol levels, and improve brain function. Research proposes that its anti-inflammatory effects allow the herb to aid rapid muscle recovery and improve endurance. Rhodiola can enhance physical performance and ease mental fatigue. Rhodiola has been suggested to help with depression which is commonly linked to fatigue, improve focus and mental clarity as well as increase overall energy. Rhodiola supports the body in making adenosine triphosphate, aka ATP, which is the primary energy source for all our cells. We added Echinacea because it is an herb that is commonly used to fight infections, boost immune system function, and reduce pain and can reverse and alleviate several types of inflammation which is important for anyone. Licorice was added because it is an Anti-inflammatory, antitoxic, digestive aid, antioxidant, and adrenal gland support all add up to huge gains for athletes, weightlifters, and bodybuilders! Licorice has also been found to be supportive of a variety of conditions and ailments. Licorice has positive effects on the following conditions: asthma, bronchitis, canker sores, chronic fatigue, colic, eczema, fibromyalgia, hepatitis, herpes simplex virus (cold sores), support with HIV, hypoglycemia, heartburn and indigestion, infection, menopause, peptic ulcer, retinopathy, and shingles. Nettles was added because it is chock-full of nutrients that is often included in antihistamine or allergy tea blends. Ginseng, because it is used it as a tonifying herb for the nervous system, is an adaptogen, supports oxygen uptake and healthy metabolism of lactic acid, which is important to athletes. It promotes balance in the neuroendocrine system as well as cognitive performance, including support for reaction time, support stamina and endurance.
Next, we added Ashwagandha because it may be beneficial for athletes is its ability to reduce inflammation in the body. Ashwagandha contains compounds that have been shown to reduce oxidative stress, which may help athletes recover faster and perform better. Ashwagandha can help increase the body’s production of nitric oxide, a compound that plays a key role in blood vessel function. By increasing nitric oxide levels, Ashwagandha can help improve blood flow to muscles during exercise, which can in turn enhance endurance and delay fatigue. In addition to its impact on nitric oxide production, Ashwagandha has also been found to reduce levels of cortisol, a hormone that is released in response to stress. Elevated levels of cortisol can lead to muscle breakdown and decreased endurance, making it harder for athletes to perform at their best. By reducing cortisol levels, Ashwagandha can help athletes better manage stress and improve their overall endurance. Another way that Ashwagandha can improve endurance is by increasing the body’s oxygen uptake. Ashwagandha may also help athletes improve their overall stamina and an increase in both VO2 max (a measure of cardiovascular fitness) and time to exhaustion during a treadmill test, suggesting that the herb may help improve both aerobic and anaerobic performance. It may also help increased muscle mass and strength, Reduced muscle damage and inflammation and Faster recovery times between workouts. Plus, it can have a positive impact on mental health and cognitive function. This can be especially beneficial for athletes who need to stay focused and motivated during training and competition. Studies have found that Ashwagandha can help reduce stress and anxiety, improve mood, and enhance memory and concentration. And finally, we added in Ginkgo. Gingko can increase blood flow to your muscles. When you increase blood flow to your muscles, you boost the amount of oxygen, nutrients, and hormones in them plus help remove waste products and toxins from your muscles. This promotes recovery and growth. It is also an antioxidant and can help fight free radicals which are harmful compounds created through stresses such as exercise. Antioxidants fight them, making cells less likely to be damaged by these stresses. Ginkgo may boost metabolism. Having a high metabolic rate is a great advantage for a bodybuilder seeking to stay lean while adding muscle mass because of its enhanced delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the muscles.
All of these ingredients will be the winning ticket maintain physical fitness and healthy recovery. Give it a try. We combine it a lot with our Red Blood Cell Recovery Blend. Making this the ultimate fitness beverage.
