Blender’s Notes H. Pylori ~ Digestive Health ~ WIP:
Steep Me Self Help Tea combinations are a terrific way to get health benefits outside of the standard tea leaf. The blends in our Work in Progress section are still in their testing phases…. We would love for you to try the blends and give us feedback on how you felt they were working. All our teas go through a thorough testing phase to ensure we are finding success in the combination. Once we have 100 people or more testing the blend and we are starting to see the same results in 60 or more of the testers…these blends will move to the Self-Help section.
With this blend we are helping to eliminate the large amount of H. Pylori (Helicobacter pylori) and the symptoms surrounding this diagnosis. H. pylori was the first bacteria to be formally recognized as a carcinogen and is an underlying root cause of many gastrointestinal disorders. Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection occurs when Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) bacteria infect your stomach. This usually happens during childhood. A common cause of stomach ulcers (peptic ulcers), H. pylori infection may be present in more than half the people in the world. Most people don’t realize they have H. pylori infection because they never get sick from it. Most people with H. pylori infection will never have any signs or symptoms. It’s not clear why many people don’t have symptoms. But some people may be born with more resistance to the harmful effects of H. pylori. When signs or symptoms do occur with H. pylori infection, they are typically related to gastritis or a peptic ulcer and may include: An ache or burning pain in your stomach (abdomen) ~ Stomach pain that may be worse when your stomach is empty ~ Nausea ~ Loss of appetite ~ Frequent burping ~ Bloating ~ and Unintentional weight loss. In this blend we started with Cranberry. Cranberries have unique A-type proanthocyanidins (PACs), which help decrease bacterial adhesion to maintain healthy gut bacteria and help prevent H. pylori, a major cause of gastric ulcers. It can also help put good bacteria back into your digestive system, especially if you eat a lot of meat, dairy, and sugar, reduce bile acids in the gut that have a link to colon and gastrointestinal cancers, control harmful acids in your mouth, keeping your mouth healthy, targets and suppresses bad bacteria while allowing good bacteria to do its job and can help quell gastritis, an inflammation in the lining of your stomach. Next, we added Licorice Root. Licorice Root contains compounds like glycyrrhizin with anti-inflammatory properties and its antibacterial potential may contribute to managing H. pylori. Goldenseal contains berberine have broad-spectrum antibiotic and antipathogenic properties and berberine can inhibit H pylori. Goldenseal contains berberine have broad-spectrum antibiotic and antipathogenic properties and berberine can inhibit H pylori. We also included Aloe Vera because it is beneficial for digestion. It stimulates the release of pepsin, aids in healthy digestion, and cleanses the GI tract. It contains enzymes that help break down sugars and fats and can decrease irritation in the stomach and intestines. Aloe vera can help with acid reflux and improve gastrointestinal health, heal ulcers, treat constipation, fight candida overgrowth, and heal leaky gut. Cayenne Pepper and Turmeric were also added. Cayenne Pepper can help increases gastric juices and enzyme production in the stomach, which helps us break down food. Plus, it can boost the good bacteria in your gut. The microbiome is a community of bacteria in your gut that are important for a healthy immune system. Capsaicin may help promote a healthy microbiome. Turmeric Root is an anti-inflammatory from the active ingredient, curcumin. Curcumin may reduce gut inflammation in IBD and even put the condition into remission. It may do this, in part, by improving the integrity of the gut lining, improving the balance of the gut microbiome, and reducing unnecessary immune responses that sustain inflammation. Senna because it has purgative properties and can be effective in treating problems that affect the digestive system including indigestion. This plant can help improve digestion by helping to promote gastric emptying of the stomach and soothe the intestinal tract. It may also assist in the control of flatulence and provide relief from nausea.
Slippery Elm was added because it is a powerful antioxidant herb that supports digestive and respiratory health. It contains a substance called mucilage that coats both the throat and intestinal lining during digestion. This gel-like coating soothes inflammation and increases mucus secretion to help with gut problems, including ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s, and inflammatory bowel disease. Slippery elm is a prebiotic, high in soluble and insoluble fibers. Medicinal herbs with prebiotic properties, like Ulmus rubra, support intestinal health by producing short-chain fatty acids, protecting the function of the gut lining, improving the immune system response against foreign invaders, and controlling inflammation. Red Ginseng was included to improved spleen and stomach function and improve digestion. Garlic because it unveils a formidable weapon against H. pylori through allicin, its active compound. This natural antibacterial powerhouse works by inhibiting the growth of H. pylori, offering a natural approach to gastric health. Tears of Chios is a resin obtained from the Pistacia lentiscus tree, boasts traditional use in promoting gastric health because it can exhibit antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and addressing digestive issues, making it a potential candidate in H. pylori management. Ginger Root was added because it is used to soothe stomach problems due to its anti-inflammatory properties. It helps to speed up stomach emptying, relieve nausea and upset stomach, stimulate the production of stomach acid, and alleviate heartburn and acid reflux and it stops the production of certain proinflammatory cytokines (IL-1, TNF-alpha), and IL-8) linked to inflammatory diseases. Skullcap because it soothes the digestive lining of the gut. It supports gut healing, operating as a nervine, thereby calming the nervous system and helping regulate the gut-brain axis and the vagus nerve connecting the brain to the gut. Next, we added Frankincense. Boswellia has been proven to be a powerful anti-inflammatory for inflammatory bowel disease (IBS). Its boswellic acid content prevents the formation of inflammatory leukotrienes. It can help to preserve the mucosal lining of the intestines, protecting it from inflammation-caused damage. It may help improve the amount of commensal (‘good’) bacteria in the gut microbiome, particularly those associated with reducing inflammation and supporting weight loss. And finally, we added Myrrh for the health of the stomach and the digestion process. Myrrh essential oil helps to treat such stomach ailments as indigestion, upset stomach, and diarrhea. Those suffering from gas will also find relief in myrrh
