Headache Kicker: Steep Me Self-Help Tea combinations are a wonderful way to get health benefits outside of the standard tea leaf. This combination of herbs helps with your Headache and migraine symptoms. Headaches are a pain in your head or face that is often described as a pressure that is throbbing, constant, sharp, or dull. Headaches can differ regarding pain type, severity, location, and frequency. These include the splitting; throbbing head pain most often comes in the form of a tension headache or a migraine headache. Migraines are more intense. Migraines usually cause a pounding, throbbing pain on one or both sides of the head and can be accompanied by nausea, vomiting or increased sensitivity to light, sound, or odors. Drinking a warm beverage can be calming and soothing and can also activate different nerves and receptors that can be pain-relieving. The ingredients we used in this blend include White Willow Bark. White Willow bark comes from the bark of the willow tree. It is the original source of salicin, which is the active ingredient that makes up aspirin which makes it a powerful herb for relieving a variety of pains including back pain, joint pain, gout, muscle strain, dizziness, and headaches, she says. Borage was added because it is known for its soothing properties, and it helps the body cope with stress and nervous tension. This is perfect for tension headache problems. Belladonna is considered a top remedy for relieving throbbing and violently painful headaches and migraines that may result from colds, sinus issues, or injuries. The migraine will begin at the back of the head and radiate at the right brow area of the head before the pain settles behind the eyes.

We also added Catnip. Catnip is a wonderful sedative and helps relax your body and relieve stress and is safe for kids. It will function as a pain reliever for your headaches and can even work for migraines. Catnip is an herb that has been used for generations to treat conditions such as anxiety, insomnia, and migraines. Catnip contains nepetalactone, which can promote feelings of relaxation. Catnip works as a mild sedative, so it is best to take it at night. Bio-Cystek or Rock Rose as also added because it is rich in polyphenols and flavonoids, the rock rose plant contains gastroprotective properties that protect you from serotonin and reserpine-induced mucosal congestion, it may also help to prevent fatigue, headaches, muscle cramps, and low blood pressure. Eucalyptus was also added because it can help with tension headaches by relaxing and soothing, easing the stress that can cause a headache if your headaches are caused by sinus issues, eucalyptus can help relieve sinus tension that causes the headaches by opening the nasal passages and clearing the sinuses. Licorice Root can help with Low blood sugar that can set off a headache. It is also an adaptogenic herb, which means it helps the body cope with stress by helping it raise or lower natural compounds, as necessary. And stress is often underlying many headaches. Echinacea was also added because it has an impressive variety of active compounds, such as caffeic acid, alkamides, phenolic acids, rosmarinic acid, polyacetylenes, and many more which have many health benefits, such as reduced inflammation, improved immunity, and lower blood sugar levels and a potential aid for anxiety. Holy Basil was also added. It works as a muscle relaxant and can ease migraine symptoms. Holy Basil also works as a natural sleep aid. We also added Linden. Linden, also known as lime tree or Tilia, has been shown to have sweat-inducing and sedative properties. It has been used to relieve tension and sinus headaches, calm the mind, ease anxiety, tension, inflammatory concerns and induce sleep. The flowers have also been used to relieve nasal congestion and lower high blood pressure and as an alternative medicine for the treatment of headaches and migraines. Black Cohosh has been because of its natural analgesic quality of black cohosh lends itself to plenty of pain-reducing applications. And the final piece to our blend is Mullein has been used in treating inflammatory conditions, spasms, diarrhea, and migraines treatment.

Mental Sharpness: This combination of herbs helps the body with keeping mental focus and removes brain fog to help function throughout the day. This is a great all-inclusive tea for enhancing brain health and function. Perfect way to start your day! We based this tea on a light bodied Chinese sencha green tea which has great healthy benefits and high antioxidants making it an ideal choice for anyone looking for a natural way to improve their mental clarity and focus. Green tea is also an excellent source of the amino acid l-theanine, which has mood-boosting abilities. L-theanine is an amino acid that has been associated with and has beneficial psychotropic effects, most notably reducing anxiety and stress, and helps promote healthy moods, improves symptoms of depression, enhances gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a neurotransmitter that helps to regulate brain excitability and calms over-firing in the brain which leads to feeling calm. We also included Brahmi. Brahmi – an ayurvedic herb to help with brain health, enhance cognitive thinking, and protect the brain from deterioration. Brahmi is a brain tonic and is valued for its ability to improve memory and cognitive processes. It contains active compounds called bacosides that promote neuronal communication and protect against oxidative stress. These mechanisms are thought to contribute significantly to enhanced learning abilities and memory retention. Ginseng because it is best renowned for offering an energy boost and greater mental sharpness. It has a stimulant in it that helps to promote blood circulation by keeping capillaries clean and dilated and is one of the best teas for increasing our focus on tasks. It provides a lot of energy and keeps us concentrated long enough for us to be efficient. Gingko Biloba was added because it is best for memory improvement. This herb has been shown to have the ability to protect nerve cells, causing a positive effect on patients with dementia and Alzheimer’s. Rosemary because antioxidants such as rosmarinic acid and carnosic acid can help increase the level of acetylcholine is what makes it an effective herb in improving your memory. Acetylcholine is the main transmitter of neural signals.

We also added Damiana. Damiana contains flavonoids, essential oils, tannins, and alkaloids. Among the most notable compounds are damianin, arbutin, and gonzalitosin I. These phytochemicals are believed to interact with various systems in the body, including the nervous system and endocrine system, contributing to damiana’s wide range of potential health benefits. Damiana helps reduce anxiety and manage stress. This anxiolytic effect may be due to its influence on neurotransmitter systems and its potential to modulate the stress response. Cognitive enhancement and memory improvement are also areas where damiana shows promise. Some studies suggest that damiana may have neuroprotective properties, potentially helping to preserve cognitive function and protect against age-related mental decline. This aligns with traditional uses of damiana as a brain tonic and memory enhancer. Next, we also include Ashwagandha. Ashwagandha is a powerful adaptogen renowned for its ability to reduce stress while promoting overall well-being. The herb works by lowering cortisol levels—a hormone that plays a significant role in stress response—thus helping to maintain emotional balance and cognitive performance during challenging times. Sage because it can bolster cognitive skills and may play a role in reducing the risk of neurodegenerative diseases. Its therapeutic potential is being examined for memory enhancement and Alzheimer’s treatment, reflecting sage’s enduring significance in the pursuit of mental clarity. Holy Basil, because of its ability to help the body adapt to stress, is particularly beneficial for the brain, creating the right conditions for mental performance. Holy Basil contains ursolic acid and rosmarinic acid, which can actively support neurotransmitter function, leading to better memory and quicker thinking. Finally, we added Gotu Kola. Gotu Kola is often referred to as a “brain herb” due to its long history of use in enhancing cognitive functions. It contains the natural extracts of an herb known as Centella Asiatica which can help to improve mental performance and increase alertness while providing a calming effect that reduces stress and helps to create a focused state of mind. What a great blend to keep you on task!

Digestive Health: The Digestive Health Tea was built to help keep a healthy microbiome and the system regular without any stimulants. Our gut is home to trillions of bacteria – collectively known as the microbiome. Most of these are good – and important to your overall health and well-being – but some are “pathogenic,” potentially causing disease. When your gut is in decent shape, friendly bacteria coexist with the potentially harmful bacteria. This harmonious balance helps your digestive system function effectively. It influences your health in other ways, too, potentially protecting against conditions like type 2 diabetes and cancer, and even supporting the immune system. A healthy gut means that you have healthy digestion most of the time without a lot of upset stomach or digestive issues. The tea will start to coat and sooth the throat, stomach, and the intestines. With this coating the digestive system will begin to heal and allow the system to digest intake properly. Keeping the system running smooth! If you suffer from feelings of heaviness, fullness, bloating, or gas after a meal, then drinking digestive teas can help to ease your discomfort. The reason certain teas are good for the stomach is that they help treat some of the underlying causes of indigestion. Stress can be one of the causes of bloating, gas, or an upset stomach after a meal. Studies have shown that stress causes digestive symptoms including nausea, abdominal cramping after a meal, diarrhea, and bowel upsetting. Teas help to relieve stress and calm your intestines plus have antispasmodic properties that can relieve stomach upset and the increase in fluid boosts digestive health. Many doctors say that a lack of fluid is one of the reasons for constipation. Drinking more fluids in the form of relaxing warm teas can do much to ease digestive complaints. In this blend we started with Puerh Tea to help “cut the grease” and help improve digestion. Puerh helps to break down fats and oils, which can improve digestion and prevent gastrointestinal problems and improve the balance of healthy bacteria in the gut. Puerh is an aged black tea from China. This fermented tea has a distinct flavor and is one of the best teas for your digestive system since it has antimicrobial properties. Another great characteristic of Puerh tea is that it can help to reduce bloating and flatulence and is helpful in treating diarrhea and constipation. Next, we also included Rooibos. Rooibos is good for alleviating any kind of abdominal pain or indigestion. This is due to certain compounds in rooibos that have demonstrated an anti-spasmodic effect on the digestive system. We also included Fennel. Fennel contains compounds that reduce inflammation and gas, making it an excellent choice for those with digestive issues and is also used for colic pain from gas and bloating. Due to fennel’s gentle nature, it can be used to support digestion in infants and children and can be given to nursing mothers. It has a unique, sweet flavor that can help to relax the muscles in the digestive tract, which can help to relieve cramps and spasms. It can also help reduce inflammation in the gut, contributing to bloating and discomfort. Fennel also has antimicrobial properties, which means that it can fight harmful bacteria in the gut. This can benefit those with digestive issues such as SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) or IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). Yellow Dock was added because it acts as a digestive tonic due to its astringent and bitter properties. Bitter herbs encourage bile production in the liver and gall bladder. This improves the digestion and absorption of food, especially fatty foods. We also included Ginger. Ginger is a natural remedy for digestive problems. Ginger contains compounds called gingerols and shogaols, which have anti-inflammatory properties and help speed digestion, reduce inflammation, and alleviate nausea. Ginger tea increases the production of digestive enzymes and bile, which breaks down food more efficiently and reduces indigestion and bloating. Since ginger tea reduces nausea and vomiting, it is an excellent option for those undergoing chemotherapy, motion sickness, or morning sickness.

Slippery Elm Bark was also included because it contains mucilage. This allows the filaments to start to coat and  soothe irritation and protect the entire digestive tract and reduce the symptoms of IBS and inflammatory bowel disease. It has also been shown to have an antioxidant effect on people suffering from Crohn’s disease. Next, we included our Steep Me Seaweed Blend. This blend is rich in amino acids that assist in breaking down heavy starches found in foods like beans. It also contains glutamic acid, which provides a savory flavor and includes fiber helpful for indigestion. We also included Anise because it is a carminative herb which has been traditionally used to relieve a wide range of digestive issues such as excess gas and bloating, relieve nausea, gastric ulcers, and constipation. Licorice was added because it guards digestive mucous membranes by increasing the production of mucin, a secretion that protects gut linings against stomach acid and other digestive juices. Licorice has both anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, so it is useful in preventing gut inflammation, protecting intestinal cells, and reducing the symptoms of uncomfortable conditions like acid reflux. These benefits come from a compound called glycyrrhizin, which gives the root its sweet taste. Studies have shown that glycyrrhizin can also help eradicate H. pylori, a harmful gut bacterium that can cause stomach ulcers. Chicory root was also included because it contains inulin, a carbohydrate that feeds beneficial bacteria in the digestive tract and may promote regular bowel movements. It also promotes the growth of beneficial intestinal bacteria, which are critical for immune function and digestion. Helichrysum because it acts as a natural cholagogue and promotes the release of bile and can therefore improve digestion. Helichrysum decreased gut swelling, digestive pain, and cramping. Next, we added Marjoram. Marjoram stimulates the salivary glands, which helps the primary digestion of food that takes place in your mouth. Marjoram compounds have gastroprotective and anti-inflammatory effects and will continue to help you digest your meals by stimulating the peristaltic movement of the intestines and encouraging elimination. Corydalis because it can promote digestion with how it massages liver which is responsible for the production of bile and key digestive enzymes. We also added in Tears of Chios. Tears of Chios have many health benefits which stem from their rich composition of antioxidants, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory compounds. The most abundant compound, triterpenes, make up 65% to 70% of the total weight of Tears of Chios . Triterpenes are chemical compounds with anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antioxidant properties that may benefit gut health. Triterpene acids in Tears of Chios  inhibit the growth of H. pylori and disrupt the ability of the bacterium to invade cells on the stomach lining, which may protect against infection and lower the risk of gastrointestinal disorders. Monoterpenes, specific chemical compounds in Tears of Chios , exhibit broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against gut bacteria associated with food-borne illnesses, including Escherichia coli (E. coli ) and Bacillus subtilis (B. subtilis). By inhibiting the growth of these bacteria, Tears of Chios  may reduce the risk of food poisoning. Tears of Chios ‘s anti-inflammatory and antioxidant compounds may alleviate the digestive discomfort associated with gut inflammation and irritation. Tears of Chios may be especially beneficial for gut health, helping to promote a healthy gut microbiome, protect the intestinal barrier, and fight bacterial infections associated with an increased risk of gastrointestinal diseases.

We also included Mug wort. Mug wort is a digestive stimulant that can be used before and after consuming heavy meals to alleviate bloating and gas. It can be effective in dealing with stubborn digestive disorders that may be caused by an abnormal flow of stomach digestive juices or due to microbial infections. Plantain was added because it promotes digestive healthy by reducing inflammation in the gut and improving gut motility. The anti-inflammatory and demulcent properties of plantain make it very soothing for your digestive tract. Plantain leaves may also slow the movement of your digestive tract, which may promote bowel regularity and help treat diarrhea. And it is especially useful for reducing inflammation of the digestive tract and supporting the restoration of damaged mucosa. Next, we added Chickweed. It is a demulcent herb and can soothe irritated tissues and it acts as a mild laxative. Its best benefit is its ability to sooth mucous membranes in your digestive tract and it helps your body absorb and use nutrients more effectively. Goldenseal because it may be effective against the C. jejuni bacterium, which is a main cause of gastroenteritis, an inflammation of the stomach and intestines that cause diarrhea and vomiting. Goldenseal is a major alkaloid, is the one responsible for its ability to fight off against H. pylori (a type of bacteria which can lead to gastritis, ulcers and even stomach cancer). It is also thought to stimulate digestive function by increasing saliva production and promoting both stomach acid and digestive enzyme production, thus relieving spasms in the intestinal tract. Additionally, the powerful anti-inflammatory action of goldenseal can protect and heal our gut and intestinal tract thus providing relief from bloating, constipation, and cramping.
