Blender’s Notes TranquiliTEA ~ Post Partum Calming & Relaxing:
Steep Me Self Help combinations are a fantastic way to get health benefits outside of the standard tea leaf. This combination of herbs was built to help the new mom’s and dad’s handle post pregnancy stress. This is a great blend that can be used anytime to start the relaxation and calming process without losing cognitive ability. This blend also has added ingredients to help with fluid retention, inflammation, cognition, digestion, and energy. Plus, we added special herbs to help sooth cough and colic in the little one through the breast milk. If you are bottle feeding, simply make a special batch and add it to the baby’s bottle. Safe for all ages. It is normal to feel overwhelmed and anxious about the many responsibilities of having a newborn. Feelings of fatigue, crying, insomnia, anger, feelings of being alone, and the inability to concentrate are all typical of the “Baby Blues.” They are usually short-lived, lasting for a few weeks. Postpartum (or postnatal) refers to the period after childbirth. Most often, the postpartum period is the first six to eight weeks after delivery, or until your body returns to its pre-pregnancy state. But the symptoms and changes that occur during the postpartum period can last far beyond eight weeks. Major body and life changes are happening at the same time during the postpartum period. Some changes are physical — for example, breast engorgement and vaginal bleeding. Other changes occur due to changing hormones. The bottom line is, giving birth is a major physical and emotional challenge. Being a caregiver and adjusting to life with an infant during the postpartum period is also incredibly demanding. Pay attention to how you feel after giving birth and let your healthcare provider know if something feels off. Just because you gave birth does not mean your care ends or that your health is not important. You should try prioritizing resting and taking care of your health in addition to caring for your baby. One of the most important things you can do for yourself after giving birth is to allow yourself time to rest and heal. While this may be easier said than done, getting rest allows your body and mind time to recover. Ask for help when you need it. This could mean limiting visitors, asking for help with childcare or asking for help with things like cleaning and making meals. Postpartum: Stages, Symptoms & Recovery Time (clevelandclinic.org)
This blend included Red Raspberry because it is believed to tone the uterus and support the reproductive system. Known for its uterine-toning properties, red raspberry leaf has been used for generations to support women during and after pregnancy. Rich in essential nutrients like iron and calcium, it helps replenish the body and may aid in postpartum recovery. Its astringent qualities can also assist in toning the pelvic muscles. It is also one of the herbs for childbirth and the best tea for postpartum. Next, we added Catnip. Catnip is known for its calming and relaxing properties, which can be beneficial during the postpartum period. It is often used in teas to help new mothers relax and unwind, which is crucial for recovery. Catnip can also help with sleep, which is often disrupted after childbirth. Rosemary because it is a wonderful herb that can offer several benefits during the postpartum period1. It is known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which can help with overall health and recovery1. Additionally, rosemary oil is often used to promote hair growth and reduce hair loss, which many new mothers experience due to hormonal changes. Yarrow Flowers are recognized for their hemostatic properties, which are so valuable for postpartum wound healing. It may help reduce bleeding and promote the healing of any tears or wounds that occurred during childbirth. It is one of my favorite herbs for postpartum healing! It is also one of the antihemorrhagic herbs so it will also help with postpartum bleeding as well. Linden made from the flowers, leaves, and bark of the Tilia tree, has been used in folk medicine for its sedative and antianxiety effects. This can be particularly helpful for new mothers experiencing stress and anxiety during the postpartum period1. Additionally, linden tea supports heart health, digestion, and the respiratory and immune systems.
Thyme was added because it is a wonderful herb with several potential benefits for postpartum recovery. It is known for its antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory properties. Thyme can help boost the immune system, support respiratory health, and aid digestion. Additionally, it is rich in calcium and iron, which are important for replenishing nutrients lost during pregnancy and childbirth. Mug wort, also known as Ai Ye in Traditional Chinese Medicine, is often used in a practice called mother warming This involves using the warmth generated from mug wort to help nourish Qi (energy) and blood, improve circulation, and relieve postpartum aches such as uterine contractions and muscle soreness. Next, we added Echinacea. Echinacea is often used to boost the immune system and help fight off colds and infections and its immune-boosting properties can be beneficial for new mothers who need to stay healthy. Nettles were added because they are a nutritional powerhouse, packed with vitamins and minerals such as iron, calcium, and magnesium. It is believed to support the body in replenishing lost nutrients during childbirth. Nettle tea is a popular choice, known for its potential to boost energy levels and promote overall well-being, including the immune system. Finally, we added Ginger. Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties and can be beneficial for postpartum recovery, especially if there were any tears or inflammation during childbirth. It can be consumed as tea or added to meals for its warming and soothing effects. It is another great herb for digestive issues or for pregnancy and postpartum nausea relief.
