Blender’s Notes Hypertension ~ High Blood Pressure ~ Micro-Nutrition:
Steep Me Micro-Nutrition combinations are a wonderful way to get health benefits of different combinations of Vitamins and Minerals. With this blend we are providing a healthy and potent blend of minerals and vitamins for managing hypertension or high blood pressure. High blood pressure, or hypertension, affects 1 in 3 adults in the United States.1 When blood pressure is high, blood pushes too hard against the walls of your blood vessels, leading to heart disease, stroke, and even an increased risk of death. High blood pressure is the most preventable cause of heart disease. While medications are often prescribed, nutrition and exercise are important lifestyle measures that can help; interestingly, certain herbs and supplements may too. What is Hypertension? The diastolic pressure (lower number) is the resistance to the blood flow in the blood vessels between heartbeats when blood is pumped around your heart. They are both measured in millimeters of mercury (mmHg). As a general guide: high blood pressure is considered to be from 140/90mmHg or more if your reading was taken at a pharmacy, GP surgery or clinic (or an average of 135/85mmHg if it was taken at home) ~ if you’re over the age of 80, high blood pressure is considered to be from 150/90mmHg or more if your reading was taken at a pharmacy, GP surgery or clinic (or an average of 145/85mmHg if it was taken at home) ~ ideal blood pressure is usually considered to be between 90/60mmHg and 120/80mmHg, while the target for people over the age of 80 years old is below 150/90mmHg (or 145/85mmHg if it was taken at home). Blood pressure readings from 121/81mmHg to 139/89mmHg could mean you are at risk of developing high blood pressure if you do not take steps to keep your blood pressure under control. Everyone’s blood pressure will be slightly different. What is considered low or high for you may be normal for someone else. If your blood pressure is too high, it puts extra strain on your blood vessels, heart, and other organs, such as the brain, kidneys, and eyes. Persistent high blood pressure can increase your risk of a number of serious and potentially life-threatening health conditions, such as heart disease ~ heart attacks ~ strokes ~ heart failure ~ peripheral arterial disease ~ aortic aneurysms ~ kidney disease ~ vascular dementia. If you have high blood pressure, reducing it even a small amount can help lower your risk of these health conditions. It is not always clear what causes high blood pressure, but there are things that can increase your risk. You might be more at risk if you ~ are overweight ~ eat too much salt and do not eat enough fruit and vegetables ~ do not do enough exercise ~ drink too much alcohol or coffee (or other caffeine-based drinks) ~ smoke ~ have a lot of stress ~ are over 65 years old. Making healthy lifestyle changes can sometimes help reduce your chances of getting high blood pressure and help lower your blood pressure if it is already high. We based this blend off Hibiscus. Hibiscus contains a variety of chemicals that have antioxidant effects and may slow the progression of atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries), reduce inflammation, and lowers cholesterol and blood pressure. We also added Amla Berries. Amla Berries lower blood pressure and lessens the effect of cardiovascular disorders. It is an intricate part of a high blood pressure diet because of its wealth of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, particularly potassium. We also included our Steep Me Potassium Blend because it works by promoting sodium excretion through the urine and helping blood vessels relax which helps hypertension. Beetroot because it is a nutrient-rich root vegetable full of natural nitrates which convert to nitric oxide and have been shown to have positive vascular effects, including a reduction in blood pressure for those with hypertension. Vitamin D3 because people with high blood pressure tend to have lower levels of vitamin D than those without this condition. With higher blood levels of vitamin D3 it may help protect against high blood pressure and its long-term effects. We also included Green Chiretta. Green Chiretta can help to reduce the amount of stress hormones in the body, helping to regulate blood pressure. Additionally, green Chiretta may help reduce inflammation, which can also help lower blood pressure. It also contains antioxidants, which can help reduce the damage caused by free radicals in the body. Celery Seed was added because it can decrease systolic and diastolic blood pressure by acting as a natural calcium channel blocker. Next, we included our Steep Me Magnesium Blend. This blend can help the body by regulating muscle function, nerve function, blood sugar levels, and blood pressure. Magnesium may help reduce blood pressure by increasing the production of nitric oxide — a signaling molecule that helps relax blood vessels and significantly reduce blood pressure in people with chronic medical conditions. Resveratrol was also included because the antioxidant effects of this ingredient can help reduce systolic and diastolic blood pressure in people with hypertension (high blood pressure) and may protect against stroke.
We also included Beta Carotene. Beta Carotene can help reduce heart disease risk factors like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and fat buildup in your arteries. Acai Berries because they have plant sterols, which may function as vasodilators and relax blood vessels to reduce blood pressure, this may prevent blood clots that can lead to healthy cardiovascular system and improves the circulation and oxygenation of the blood. DHA Omega3 because they have EPA and DHA (eicosatetraenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid) which are healthy fats to help support heart health and normalize blood pressure and help lower inflammation. Pomegranate was included because it contains a variety of chemicals that have antioxidant effects which may slow the progression of atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries). Next is Ashwagandha. Ashwagandha can treat a wide range of health conditions, including stress, anxiety, insomnia, and inflammation. It contains compounds called withanolides, which have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancer properties and have a positive effect on blood pressure regulation. Steep Me Medicinal Mushroom Blend has also been included. In this blend, the mushrooms are rich in vitamin D, essential for regulating blood pressure, and packed with amino acids and bioactive compounds known to promote heart health. They are a powerhouse of antioxidants which may induce calm throughout your body, thanks to its knack for regulating angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) levels, they will also help boost energy and keeps you energetic throughout the day, they contain bioactive components that support healthy cholesterol levels and blood pressure, making it a true companion to the heart and the mushroom polysaccharides help to eliminate hypertension. Next, we included Bacopa. Bacopa may help keep blood pressure within a healthy range because it reduces both systolic and diastolic blood pressure levels. It did this by releasing nitric oxide, which helps dilate blood vessels, resulting in improved blood flow and lower blood pressure. L-Arginine because it is an important amino acid that helps release nitric oxide into the blood. This helps open blood vessels and support blood flow as well as diastolic blood pressure in pregnant women with elevated levels while gaining improved blood vessel function and blood flow. And finally, we included Caralluma. Caralluma has many heart benefits because of its anti-inflammatory activity and may help reduce cholesterol levels and regulate blood pressure.
