Blender’s Notes Oral Health:
Steep Me Self Help combinations are a great way to get health benefits outside of the standard tea leaf. This combination of herbs was developed to help keep a healthy mouth, gums, teeth, and fresh breath. Good oral care includes daily brushing and flossing. Without good oral hygiene, germs can reach levels that might lead to infections, such as tooth decay and gum disease. Using tea to enhance your oral health is a great addition to a healthy dental regime. Not only will it taste great, but it will remove debris from your teeth and gums, and it can also freshen up your breath. The use of tea is amazing because it has no side effects, you can avoid harsh abrasives, and sometimes gives you faster results since it is ingestible. Plus, it really tastes good! The mouth is the entry to the digestive tract. That is the long tube of organs from the mouth to the anus that food travels through. The mouth also is the entry to the organs that allow breathing, called the respiratory tracts. So sometimes germs in the mouth can lead to disease throughout the body. Most often the body’s defenses and good oral care keep germs under control. Oral health: A window to your overall health – Mayo Clinic
In this blend we started with Jasmine green tea, green tea is perfect for protecting the gums, prevents cavities and tooth loss, and freshens your breath! With that we added Cinnamon. Cinnamon is an aromatic spice that is loaded in calcium, making it an excellent ingredient for strengthening the teeth. This herb contains anti-microbial properties that help relieve mild pain. It has been used both in ancient times and the very recent past for numbing teeth in instances such as teeth and gum cleaning and for teething toddlers. We added Cloves which has been used for ages to treat toothaches and breath freshener. While the anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties of cloves help in fighting infections causing tooth decay, their anesthetic property is associated with alleviating any tooth pain anti-inflammatory and anti-plaque agents as beneficial for preventing periodontal disease. In addition to the above ingredients, we added Eucalyptus to help kill the harmful bacteria responsible for bad breath. It is also found to improve oral health by reducing plaque formation, strengthening gums, and preventing any gum bleeding, Lavender to help fight against dangerous bacteria like Streptococcus mutans (a type that causes tooth decay), Licorice Root because it has strong anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal properties. This herb helps prevent the buildup of mouth bacteria and protects against gum disease as well as cavities. Plus, licorice also exhibits marked anti-inflammatory property and can help in soothing mouth ulcers. Neem Leaf is highly recommended for its astringent, antiseptic, and antibacterial properties, especially by homeopathic professionals. Neem leaves are also extraordinarily rich in antioxidants, which help boost the immunity of gums against inflammatory infections and diseases just by rubbing it on the teeth and gums. Neem is useful in combating issues like periodontal pockets and gingivitis. Stevia Leaf was added for its antibacterial activity of stevia extracts on preventing the growth of mouth bacteria like Streptococcus mutans, Streptococcus sobrinus and Lactobacillus acidophilus, all of which are associated with dental plaques and therefore help in preventing tooth decay and finally White Oak Bark because it is rich in tannins, which help in tightening gums and/or loose teeth as well as improving the elasticity of gum tissue. It also has a high content of magnesium, calcium, and zinc, which helps in strengthening your teeth and jaw. This is a flavorful tea that would be a great daily drink option. Enjoy!
