Blender’s Notes Vertigo ~ Motion Sick ~ Inner Ear ~ Tinnitus ~ WIP:
Steep Me Self-Help combinations are a wonderful way to get health benefits outside of the standard tea leaf. The blends in our Work in Progress section are still in their testing phases…. We would love for you to try the blends and give us feedback on how you felt they were working. All our teas go through a thorough testing phase to ensure we are finding success in the combination. Once we have 100 people or more evaluating the blend and we are starting to see the same results in 60 or more of the testers…these blends will move to the Self-Help section.
This combination of herbs was built to help with was built to help with a sense of nausea, vomiting, feeling of dizziness, and spinning, occurring with or without any movement, headaches, ringing in the ears, and overall inner ear health! When the Eustachian tube, or narrow passage between the inner ear and the back of the throat, is not working properly, fluid can also build up. The fluid can cause other problems to occur, such as infections and inflammation. With Tinnitus is when you hear ringing or other noises in one or both ears. The noise is not caused by an external sound but occurs when there is something wrong with the auditory system, which includes the ear, the auditory nerve, and parts of the brain that process sound. The herbs in this blend can help with all these options. What is Vertigo? Vertigo is a sensation of feeling off balance. If you have these dizzy spells, you might feel like you are spinning or that the world around you is spinning. Vertigo is often caused by an inner ear problem. People with vertigo typically describe it as feeling like they are Spinning ~ Tilting ~ Swaying ~ Unbalanced ~ Pulled to one direction. Other symptoms that may accompany vertigo include Feeling nauseated ~ Vomiting ~ Abnormal or jerking eye movements (nystagmus) ~ Headache ~ Sweating ~ Ringing in the ears or hearing loss. What is Motion Sickness? Motion sickness is a condition that happens when your eyes, inner ear and body send conflicting messages to your brain. You can develop the condition whenever your body is staying still but you’re being moved by a vehicle, like when you’re riding in a car or standing on a boat deck. Some people get a kind of motion sickness while playing video games and virtual reality games (virtual motion sickness or VMS). Symptoms include nausea, breaking out in cold sweat or headache. Fortunately, there are ways to prevent motion sickness or ease its symptoms. Motion sickness happens when your brain gets conflicting messages from the parts of your body that sense motion: your eyes, inner ear, muscles and joints. Motion Sickness: What It Is, Causes, Symptoms & Treatment
In this tea we added Chamomile because it acts to reduce anxiety and nervous tension. Its active ingredients include sesquiterpene lactones, flavonoids, coumarins, and phenolic acids which can help with vertigo and motion sickness, plus, its gentle taste makes this a safe and desirable option for children. Next, we added Peppermint Leaf because it contains volatile oils that act to calm the stomach and have an overall calming effect. Its taste and scent can be used to combat feelings of lightheadedness associated with motion sickness. Ginger Root has been used for over 2,000 years to calm and soothe the stomach. There are numerous studies to support the effectiveness of ginger as of the better herbs for motion sickness. Lemon Peel helps to lead to significant reductions in nausea and vomiting keeping the stomach calm. Mullein aids in calming inflammatory tissue and relieving pain related to ear infections where irritation and inflammation are present, such as internal and external ear infections. Garlic, Astralagus, Ginseng, and Steep Me Medicinal Mushrooms are all added because they have strong antiviral and anti-inflammatory qualities keeping the immune system strong and helping remedy any underlying conditions. We then added White Peony Root which has an analgesic (pain-relieving) effect and helps to increase blood flow bringing relief to tinnitus and inner ear pain.
With the above herbs, we also added in Wild Indigo Root which has the ability of acting as a decongestant and lymphatic drainer while combating infection, making it particularly beneficial in cases of nasal congestion, bacterial infection, and swollen lymph nodes which can cause tinnitus and other inner ear concerns. Licorice Root is a potent anti-inflammatory thought to soothe the mucous membranes of the stomach and therefore alleviate nausea and upset stomach. Gingko Biloba can help solve the symptoms of vertigo by managing blood flow to the brain to relieve dizziness and balance issues. Dandelion Leaf Powder works as a natural diuretic, it can help to dry up the liquid that is present in the ear relieving any pain. Horehound provide relief for many digestive disorders including nausea from motion sickness or vertigo. Parsley naturally moves mucus throughout your body and may help to allow the fluid to flow more effectively from the ear. Fenugreek Seed can help aid in lymphatic drainage and helps to relieve congested eustachian tubes and bring inner ear relief.
