Blender’s Notes Uterine Health ~ Pregnancy Nutrition:

Steep Me Self-Help combinations are a fantastic way to get health benefits outside of the standard tea leaves. This combination of herbs helps ensure a healthy uterus. This blend works for all ages, from teenage ladies to post-menopausal women. This blend is great for our pregnant and new moms! We want to get you nourishing herbs to help support you and the baby during pregnancy. In this blend, we started with Raspberry Leaf. Raspberry Leaf contains alkaloid fragrine, which can help strengthen the uterus as well as the pelvic area. It can also help ease menstrual discomfort, improve reproductive health, balance hormones, and may prevent miscarriage by strengthening and toning the uterine wall. Because the uterus needs a lot of vitamins and minerals to function properly, red raspberry leaf tea has all of them. Raspberry Leaf is commonly used during pregnancy, and studies show that it might not only improve the outcome, but it also reduces the possibility of medical intervention. Although it is not technically a pain-reliever, the leaves have helped a myriad of women in labor, those dealing with PMS, premenstrual bloating, heavy period flows, and endometriosis. Next, we added Nettle Leaf. Nettle is one of the greatest multivitamins, containing minerals important to pregnancy, and it can help with nausea, bloating, and constipation. Nettle leaves are a storehouse of nutrition, with high iron and calcium contents, as well as an excellent source of folic acid, an essential nutrient during pregnancy. Because nettle also supports the vascular system, it can prevent varicose veins and hemorrhoids. Nettles are deeply nourishing to all body types, especially useful to the womb pre- and post-cycle, for fertility, for postpartum, after birth, and in the case of a miscarriage. Nettle may also support kidney health, may clear urinary tract infections, and is incredibly effective at reducing seasonal allergies. Also, in the blend we added Oat straw. Oat straw provides many vitamins and minerals, including folate and pantothenic acid, and it can help with stress or depression by nourishing and strengthening your central nervous system. It can also help with maintaining the digestive system. Oat Straw is a nourishing herb that is useful to promote a healthy endocrine system that is responsible for hormone production, more specifically estrogen and progesterone. Plus, it benefits during pregnancy by reducing the risk of varicose veins and strengthening those capillaries, i.e., better blood flow. Capillaries are blood vessels that transport blood to and from the heart. They directly assist in the transportation of blood to your growing baby. We added Chamomile, which has high levels of antioxidants that can help with sleep and has anti-inflammatory properties. Chamomile tea is known to have a calming effect and help prevent colds and other illnesses. Chamomile can reduce the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome. Some natural healers suggest drinking chamomile tea can help with endometriosis symptoms. Chrysin, a compound found in chamomile, suppressed the growth of endometrial cells and can help mend the system. Ginger root helps relieve nausea and vomiting and may be an effective remedy for morning sickness associated with pregnancy and has been shown to help relieve pain from uterine cramping, which many pregnant women experience in the first trimester. Ginger Root can reduce menstruation-related pain. This suggests ginger could have a similar effect on pain associated with endometriosis. This herb is a rich source of antioxidants due to the active component, gingerol. It may also help to strengthen the immune system and lower blood pressure. Lemon Balm has a minty, fresh taste and can help you feel relaxed and hydrated. It can help improve mood and brain function. It helps reduce insomnia and soothe menstrual cramps. It is a reliable source of antioxidants. We also added rose hips. They are rich in beta-carotene, a precursor to vitamin A. This nutrient is crucial for maintaining optimal eyesight and promoting healthy skin. Rose hips provide a notable supply of vitamin E, an antioxidant that safeguards the body against harm from free radicals, preventing potential damage. Rose hips contain modest quantities of vitamin K, which is vital for both blood clotting processes and maintaining strong bones. Rose hips are a valuable source of B vitamins such as thiamine, riboflavin, and niacin. These nutrients play essential roles in energy metabolism, nerve function, and the health of your skin.

Red Clover can be considered one of nature’s best vitamin and mineral supplements, as it contains beta-carotene, calcium, vitamin C, a whole spectrum of B vitamins, and essential trace minerals such as magnesium, manganese, zinc, copper, and selenium. Red Clover can prevent and ease constipation, which is common during pregnancy. It also strengthens the liver and improves appetite, especially when morning sickness is a problem. And it relieves anxiety. It will also produce abundant breast milk and keep the mother feeling relaxed and healthy throughout pregnancy. Red Clover multivitamins contain calcium, vitamin C, beta-carotene, whole-spectrum B vitamins, and essential trace minerals such as magnesium, zinc, copper, selenium, and manganese. Because of Red Clover’s phytoestrogens, women commonly use it to support common menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, mood swings, and night sweats. The isoflavones in Red Clover appear to bind with estrogen receptor sites, preventing certain forms of estrogen, such as estradiol and/or excess estrogen, from accumulating. Red Clover is often used for fertility, and as a tonic to prepare the uterus for pregnancy. Its signature red flowers look like red blood cells, signaling its key healing powers, which are to purify and mineralize the blood. Studies also demonstrate it to be an effective galactagogue as it stimulates prolactin secretion, therefore increasing milk production. has proven to be one of the most effective fertility herbs for women. It is loaded with nutrients like calcium, minerals, magnesium, vitamins, and proteins. Each of these nutrients plays a special role in assisting the female body. Both magnesium and calcium help to promote fertility. Minerals are important for balancing hormonal levels. Protein, on the other hand, helps with overall health, while vitamins are amazing for the uterus’s health. In addition, red clover blossoms also aid in repairing scarring or damage in the Fallopian tubes, besides repairing “unexplained infertility.” This fertility herb is the best and simply amazing for women over forty.

We also added Dandelion Root. Traditionally used as a gentle digestive bitter to ease potential discomforts of pregnancy and anytime, dandelion Root can improve digestion and promote bile to relieve constipation. It is one of the best herbs for cleansing and strengthening the liver, our main detoxifying organ. Dandelion is a diuretic and can help relieve fluid retention. Because of its high potassium content, it does not deplete the body of this important mineral, as other diuretics are known to do. Roots are anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal, cholagogue, choleretic, deobstruent, discutient, hepatic, hypnotic, purgative, sedative, alterative, anodyne, antirheumatic root, aperient, astringent, bitter, decongestant, depurative, digestive, diuretic, galactagogue, immune stimulant, laxative, lithotriptic, nutritive, stomachic, and can be used as a tonic. Then we added Linden Flowers because they can be helpful for bloating, flatulence, heartburn, and constipation and may soothe digestive discomfort and heartburn. Linden Flowers function as a diaphoretic to induce sweating, but the increased body temperature may help support the immune system’s fight against infections. It also contains farnesol, which is an antispasmodic and sedative. This may be ideal for anxiety or irritability that can come with pregnancy. Finally, we added Alfalfa. Alfalfa offers a ton of benefits for pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers. Many of those are at a generic level, helping the body stay healthy, while others can effectively improve your pregnancy and nursing stages altogether. Alfalfa provides women with a good dose of vitamin K that is necessary for the baby’s growth. Lactating women who have a low supply of milk can benefit from consuming alfalfa. It can reduce the symptoms of morning sickness as well. The immune system is strengthened substantially. It helps alleviate many bodily problems, such as gout, pituitary issues, and so on. It reduces blood pressure and cholesterol. Improves the digestion process and revitalizes teeth damaged by decay. All the above ingredients have been thoughtfully combined to help with all stages of Uterine Health.

When talking about the many types of tea, Tisane (Herbal Infusion) or Herbal Tea or Self-Help Tea is really not tea at all.  It is made like a tea and all the same items are used to make it, but it does not contain the Camellia Sinensis Plant (unless stated), but is simply roots, flowers, leaves, and fruits put together is a combination that is made just like a tea.  With that being said…the health benefits of a Tisane or Herbal teas are different.  They can vary depending on the ingredients and combination of herbs so there are no blanket health benefits – just depends on the ingredients.

For many, the best part of Tisane or Herbal Tea or Self-Help Tea is the fact that it is caffeine free naturally.  Of course there are herbs that can be added to change that.  The most popular Herbal teas include Chamomile, Peppermint, Spearmint, and any combination of fruit blends or infusions.  Our Self-Help Teas are simply supplemental herbal combinations to aid with an occasional ailment specific to what may be happening in your life.  The teas are built to work and are not build with any specific flavorings.  The blends are tested to the minimum requirements laid out by Steep Me A Cup of Tea.  The taste provided is natural to the herbs present in the blend.  No flavorings added.
