Blender’s Notes Essiac Blend by Steep Me:
FDA Recognized option for Cancer and Tumor Remediation
Steep Me Self Help Tea combinations are a wonderful way to get health benefits outside of the standard tea leaf. This combination of herbs helps you with fighting cancer. It is claimed that Essiac tea — when made with the right amount of ingredients — has potent anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting properties. While the Essiac blend is most used for cancer treatment, some people also use it for treating AIDS, diabetes, and digestive issues. That said, some studies show that Essiac tea has antioxidant effects and the ability to prevent DNA and cell damage, which, in turn, could potentially prevent cancer. According to some older test-tube studies, the Essiac blend — when taken in higher amounts — can help prevent leukemia and breast cancer cells from growing. Comparable results have also been seen during animal research, though studies on humans are insufficient. More human-based studies are needed to prove the effects of the Essiac blend on cancer cells. Essiac tea is a blend of four different plant ingredients. These plants give Essiac tea its many different names, including powdered sheep sorrel root, powdered rhubarb root, and powdered slippery elm bark. These are the four main traditional ingredients of Essiac tea:
- Sheep sorrel (Rumex acetosella): Test-tube studies show that this herb can function as a strong anti-viral agent.
- Burdock root (Arctium lappa): The substances present in this root are known to regulate blood sugar levels, boost skin health, and help in blood circulation.
- Turkey Rhubarb Root (Rheum palmatum): Animal research shows that this plant has potent antioxidant properties and the ability to fight liver cancer cells in mice.
- Slippery elm (Ulmus rubra): This herb is rich in antioxidants and commonly used as a natural remedy for inflammatory bowel disease.
Essiac Tea: What Is It and What Are the Benefits? (medicinenet.com)
In the blend we started with Sheep Sorrel. The plant exhibits antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and diuretic properties, it offers several health benefits. It acts as a detoxifying agent and promotes fast expulsion of toxins. This helps improve the functioning of various organs and systems in the body and can be used to strengthen the immune system and fight cancer. The antioxidants in the herb help cancel the effects of free radicals in the body. Thus, they help boost the immune system. It contains antioxidant flavonoids that help eliminate potentially harmful free radicals from the body. Free radicals can damage your cellular membranes and DNA, increasing your risk of cancer, heart disease, and other illnesses. By stabilizing free radicals, antioxidants enable your body to eliminate them on its own. Next, we added Burdock Root. Free radicals and inflammation are both linked to the development of cancer. This means that burdock’s role as an antioxidant anti-inflammatory might help to prevent cancer. Preliminary research also supports the notion that burdock can help slow the growth of cancer. Free radical damage, autoimmune disorders, and other medical conditions can cause chronic inflammation. Inflammation is linked to many medical conditions, and burdock root significantly decreased measures of inflammation. Burdock root acts as an antioxidant and Antioxidants help fight the effects of free radicals. Free radicals are chemicals in the body that damage the body’s cells and may be responsible for a wide range of ailments, including cancer, aging, and inflammatory disorders. They tend to accumulate with age, so researchers are interested in how antioxidants might slow the process of aging.
We also included Turkey Rhubarb. The tannins and anthraquinones present in Turkey rhubarb have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. These compounds scavenge the free radicals and lower the oxidative damage, reducing cancer risk. The anthraquinones also help kill the tumor cells, thus shedding some light on preventing metastasis. Emodin, a type of anthraquinone, induces a suicidal tendency in cancer cells and prevents cell cycle progression. Yet another anthraquinone, rhein, helps prevent the absorption of glucose by the cancer cells and modifies the membranes of these cells to kill them. Aloe-emodin, a bioactive component of Rhubarb, has shown anticancer effects. It was found that Aloe-emodin possesses anti-carcinogenic and anti-proliferative properties on human cancer cell lines. However, the effect was effective on specific cell types and not across all cell lines. Turkey rhubarb stores compounds like calcium oxalate, anthraquinones, tannins, and various fatty acids. The tannins and anthraquinones give them anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, making them a potential cure for cancer and other health conditions, including chronic constipation. Finally, we added Slippery Elm. Slippery Elm contains compounds called phenolics, slippery elm may function as a natural free radical scavenger and oxidative stress reducer. Phenolics are antioxidants that have been shown to elicit cellular responses that counter oxidant stress, which contributes to aging and many chronic diseases. Plant phenolics also seem to help protect against pathogens due to their natural antifungal effects. Slippery elm may fight inflammation and cancer by: Blocking the release of oxygen radicals (superoxide, peroxyl) involved in inflammation, blood vessel damage, DNA damage, and cancer. Decreasing the production of interleukin 8 (IL-8), a cytokine that can cause inflammation and cancer. Many of our guests have combined this blend with the Cancer Fighter Phyto~Nutrition Tea and made it into a soup. The broth-like qualities these herbs give make a great option and if they are ground down can also be ingested!
