Blender’s Notes Candida ~ Glabrata ~ Parapsilosis ~ Micro-Nutrition ~ Steep Me Glutathione Blend
Steep Me Micro-Nutrition combinations are a wonderful way to get health benefits from different combinations of Vitamins and Minerals. With this blend we are providing a healthy and potent blend of herbs and vitamins to help the body with Candid and the more medication resistant strains of Candida Glabrata & Candida Parapsilosis. Candida glabrata (C. glabrata) can be found as a part of your natural microflora. It may be present in the GI tract, the mouth, and the genital area. Candida glabrata is typically well-controlled, or harmless, in healthy people. But it can become a problem in people with a suppressed immune system. For example, this includes people who are living with HIV, people who are receiving cancer treatments, and people who have received an organ transplant. Candida glabrata also has a high resistance to some antifungal medications, which can make it hard to treat. Candida glabrata may be the second or third most common Candida strain with its prevalence growing since the 1990s. Candida albicans are considered the most common cause of yeast infections. Candida glabrata: Infections, Treatments, and Risks   Candida Parapsilosis (C. Parapsilosis) is a type of fungus that lives on your skin and in your gastrointestinal (GI) tract. It is also found in the environment around us (like in soil). Most of the time, C. Parapsilosis does not harm us. But surgery, injury or disease can cause it to grow in places where it does not belong. This can cause you an infection and make you seriously ill. Infections in your blood or internal organs with C. Parapsilosis (or other forms of Candida fungi) are called invasive candidiasis. C. Parapsilosis is one of the most common fungal infections that cause serious illness (the most common is Candida albicans). But that does not mean you are likely to get it — about 9 in 100,000 people (or a little less than .01% of people) get invasive candidiasis each year. Candida Parapsilosis: Causes, Symptoms & Treatment

In this blend we started with Caster Oil. Castor Oil was also included because it has some antifungal activity due to its main fatty acid, ricinoleic acid and its derivative undecylenic acid has well-established antifungal use against resistant species like Candida glabrata and Candida Parapsilosis. Especially helpful when paired with Berberine HCL and Boric Acid. Next is Berberine. Berberine was included for its broad-spectrum antifungal activity especially those against fluconazole-resistant strains. Berberine integrates into fungal membranes, increasing permeability and leading to leakage of cellular contents and interfering with fungal mitochondrial function, reducing ATP production, and triggering apoptosis-like cell death. Berberine is also helps reduce systemic inflammation often associated with fungal overgrowth and Improves blood sugar regulation and lipid metabolism, indirectly reducing fungal growth drivers (since high glucose favors Candida proliferation). With the above ingredients we tied in Boric Acid. Boric Acid was added because it works by directly disrupting fungal metabolism and biofilm formation, making it especially valuable in resistant or recurrent infections. Boric acid inhibits fungal growth and can help kill yeast cells while it interferes with oxidative metabolism inside yeast cells, impairing energy production. Boric acid prevents biofilm development and hyphal transformation, both of which protect Candida from antifungals and do not target ergosterol synthesis, so it remains effective against azole-resistant strains. Coconut Water was also added because of the benefit of it being combined with other stronger antifungals contained in the recipe. Coconut water is rich in potassium, magnesium, and calcium, which helps maintain hydration and cellular balance. This is important during detox or antifungal therapy when die-off can cause fatigue and electrolyte shifts. Coconut water contains antioxidants and plant hormones that reduce inflammation, which can help counteract Candida-driven oxidative stress. Enzymes in coconut water may aid digestion, indirectly reducing undigested substrates that feed yeast. We also included Nagarmotha (Cyperus rotundus) because it is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial and detoxifying herb that can support protocols for Candida glabrata and Candida Parapsilosis. It does this by weakening fungal defenses, improving digestion, reducing inflammation, and supporting detoxification, making it a valuable adjunct in layered antifungal strategies. It contains volatile oils of cyperene, cyperotundone, and cineole that help disrupt microbial membranes and inhibit fungal growth. It contains polyphenols of isorhamnetin, and luteolin which provide antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, reducing tissue damage from Candida toxins. It has bitter qualities of Tikta and  Kashaya rasa in Ayurveda that improve digestion, reduce ama (toxic buildup), and create a less favorable terrain for fungal persistence and it supports clearance of fungal metabolites and systemic toxins.

Next, we added Ceylon Cinnamon. Cinnamon does a wonderful job at disrupting fungal cell membranes, inhibiting biofilm formation, and synergizing with other antifungals. The main bioactive compound in cinnamon bark oil; disrupts fungal cell walls and membranes, leading to leakage and cell death. It also contains Eugenol & linalool which are secondary compounds with antifungal and anti-biofilm effects. The breakdown of the Candida biofilms, which are a major resistance mechanism in C. glabrata and C. Parapsilosis can cause cell death. Cinnamon reduces inflammatory cytokines and oxidative stress, indirectly supporting antifungal immunity. Cinnamon helps stabilize glucose, reducing one of Candida’s main growth fuels,  improves blood flow, potentially enhancing delivery of antifungal agents and  neutralizes free radicals generated by Candida toxins. A necessary addition to ensure overall recovery. Ginger was also added because its active compounds (gingerol, shogaol, zingerone) disrupt fungal membranes, reduce biofilms, and support immunity, making it a useful adjunct in resistant Candida protocols. Cayenne Pepper was included because Cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens) contains compounds like capsaicin and a unique antifungal saponin called CAY-1, which have shown activity against multiple fungal strains. CAY-1 saponin has been identified by USDA researchers, disrupts fungal cell membranes, causing leakage and cell death. It has been shown effective against at least sixteen fungal strains, including Candida. Cayenne increases blood flow, which may enhance delivery of antifungal agents and immune cells to infected tissues and the capsaicin in the pepper damages fungal cell membranes and interferes with enzyme activity and induces oxidative stress in fungal cells, impairing survival. Cayenne’s vitamin C content and circulation-enhancing effects may strengthen host defenses and by stimulating digestion and circulation, cayenne may help clear fungal metabolites and reduce die-off symptoms. Vitamin C was also included because it enhances white blood cell activity (neutrophils, macrophages), improving the body’s ability to attack fungal cells. Vitamin C is stored in the adrenal glands and Candida toxins (like acetaldehyde) stress the adrenals, and Vitamin C helps restore their function, indirectly improving antifungal defense. Vitamin C increases gastric acidity, which can slow Candida colonization in the gut. Vitamin C neutralizes oxidative stress caused by fungal toxins, protecting host tissues and it enhances the effect of antifungal drugs by weakening Candida’s oxidative stress defenses. Olive Leaf has  antifungal activity against Candida glabrata and Candida Parapsilosis. Its main active compounds, oleuropein and hydroxytyrosol, disrupt fungal membranes, inhibit biofilm formation, and enhance immune defenses. Olive Leaf reduces Candida’s ability to form biofilms, which are critical for C. glabrata and C. Parapsilosis drug resistance. It also stimulates phagocytosis and enhances cytokine response, helping the host clear fungal infections and helps stabilize glucose, indirectly reducing one of Candida’s main growth fuels. Olive Leaf also provides antioxidants and anti-inflammatory protection during antifungal therapy.

Next is our Steep Me Glutathione. Glutathione (GSH) plays a dual role in Candida infections. For the host, it is protective—detoxifying fungal byproducts, supporting immunity, and reducing oxidative stress. For the fungus (Candida glabrata and Candida Parapsilosis), glutathione is also a virulence factor, helping the yeast resist oxidative stress and antifungal drugs. Thus, glutathione support can benefit the host, but Candida itself exploits glutathione to survive. Glutathione has many health benefits including neutralizes Candida toxins (acetaldehyde, ammonia, mannan), enhances macrophage and neutrophil activity against fungal pathogens, helps process toxic load during antifungal therapy and die-off reactions and maintains cellular resilience during chronic infection and inflammation. Uva Ursi was added because it has broad antimicrobial and antifungal activity, and it has been traditionally used for urinary tract and yeast infections. Its active compounds (especially arbutin and hydroquinone derivatives) can inhibit fungal growth, including Candida species. Betaine HCL was included because supports the body’s natural defenses by restoring stomach acidity, which creates an environment less favorable for fungal overgrowth. Its main benefits are improved digestion, enhanced nutrient absorption, antimicrobial protection in the stomach, and synergy with antifungals. Betaine HCL increases gastric acidity, which can help sterilize food and prevents colonization of pathogens like Candida, improves protein digestion, reducing undigested substrates that feed yeast and enhances absorption of minerals (iron, zinc, magnesium) critical for immune defense. Plus, Betaine HCL helps better nutrient absorption (B12, iron, zinc) strengthens antifungal immune responses. Triphala was also included. Its three fruits — Amalaki (Emblica officinalis), Haritaki (Terminalia chebula), and Bibhitaki (Terminalia bellirica) — provide antioxidant, detoxifying, digestive, and mild antimicrobial effects. These actions help restore gut balance, reduce toxic load, and improve immunity, which indirectly makes the body less favorable for resistant Candida species. Triphala enhances Agni (digestive fire), reduces ama (toxic buildup), and promotes regular elimination. This reduces the substrates Candida thrives on. Triphala has antifungal effects, including against Candida and helps prepare the terrain by cleansing and detoxifying. By supporting elimination and liver detox, Triphala can reduce Herxheimer reactions during Candida die-off. The polyphenols and tannins in Triphala enhance macrophage activity and antioxidant defenses, strengthening host resistance. Triphala promotes beneficial bacteria, which compete with Candida for space and nutrients.

We also added Garlic. Garlic is a potent natural antifungal with activity against Candida glabrata and Candida Parapsilosis. It works by disrupting membranes, breaking down biofilms, and synergizing with other antifungals, making it a valuable part of layered protocols for resistant Candida infections. Garlic contains Allicin which disrupts fungal cell membranes, leading to leakage of cellular contents. From Allicin, joene is an even stronger antifungal and it interferes with cell wall integrity and prevents fungal replication. Garlic compounds can weaken Candida biofilms, which are a major resistance mechanism in C. glabrata and C. Parapsilosis. and it enhances the activity of azoles (like fluconazole) and natural antifungals  which are included in this recipe. In addition to the anti-fungal qualities, garlic boosts macrophage and NK cell activity, helping the body fight fungal infections. it reduces cytokine-driven inflammation caused by Candida toxins and helps regulate blood sugar, indirectly reducing one of Candida’s main growth fuels. Manjistha was also added. Manjistha is a blood purifier and lymphatic cleanser in Ayurveda. By improving lymphatic drainage, it helps clear microbial toxins and reduces systemic inflammation. The active compounds like rubiadin and purpurin enhance liver enzyme activity and bile flow, aiding detoxification of fungal metabolites (acetaldehyde, mannan). Anthraquinones and flavonoids down-regulate pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-6), reducing tissue damage caused by Candida toxins. Manjistha shows antibacterial and antifungal effects in vitro, though not as potent as direct antifungals. It may help suppress Candida biofilm formation indirectly and supports macrophage and lymphocyte activity, strengthening host defenses against fungal pathogens. Manjistha does not directly kill Candida glabrata or Parapsilosis, but it helps restore balance by reducing ama (toxic buildup) that weakens immunity, supporting digestion and liver detox pathways and enhancing resilience against recurrent infections. Bovine lactoferrin (bLf) was added because it can help deprive fungi of iron, disrupting their membranes, inhibiting biofilms, and synergizing with antifungal drugs like fluconazole. This makes it especially valuable for resistant non-albicans Candida species. Bovine lactoferrin (bLf) binds free iron, starving Candida cells of a critical growth factor. Direct interaction with fungal cell walls increases permeability, leading to leakage and cell death. It also prevents adhesion and biofilm formation, which are major resistance mechanisms in C. glabrata and C. Parapsilosis while it enhances host defenses by regulating cytokines (IL-6, IL-8) and supporting mucosal immunity. Besides helping remove the harmful candida, Bovine lactoferrin (bLf) supports beneficial flora and promotes Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium growth, reduces mucosal inflammation caused by Candida overgrowth and benefits in reducing colonization and recurrence.

We also included Chlorella. Chlorella was added by enhancing detoxification, strengthening immunity, and improving gut microbial balance. Chlorella stimulates macrophages, NK cells, and increases cytokines such as interferon and TNF, which help the body target fungal pathogens. Chlorella binds heavy metals, pesticides, and mycotoxins, reducing toxic load that otherwise weakens immunity, and it promotes the growth of beneficial bacteria, which compete with Candida for space and nutrients and contain phenols, flavonoids, fatty acids, and saponins against Candida. Next, we added Neem because it has documented antifungal activity against multiple Candida species, including resistant non-albicans strains such as Candida glabrata and Candida Parapsilosis, dermatophytes, and molds. Its bioactive compounds (nimbidol, nimbolide, azadirachtin, gedunin) disrupt fungal membranes, inhibit biofilm formation, and enhance host immunity. Neem phytochemicals alter fungal cell wall integrity, causing leakage and cell death and reduces Candida’s ability to form biofilms, which are critical for C. glabrata and C. Parapsilosis survival and drug resistance. Nimbolide induces oxidative stress in fungal cells, impairing energy production and enhances macrophage and T-cell activity, helping the host clear fungal infections while reducing fungal toxin burden and systemic inflammation. MCT was included can help suppress Candida glabrata and Candida Parapsilosis indirectly because it contains caprylic acid (C8) and capric acid (C10), which are well-documented natural antifungals. These fatty acids disrupt fungal cell membranes, reduce biofilm formation, and make resistant Candida species more vulnerable. Because it contains Caprylic and capric acids, it can penetrate fungal lipid membranes, causing leakage and cell death. MCT-derived fatty acids interfere with Candida’s ability to form protective biofilms, which are especially important in C. glabrata and C. Parapsilosis. MCT helps with fatty acids lower gut pH, creating an environment less favorable for fungal overgrowth and caprylic acid enhances the activity of other antifungals (both natural and pharmaceutical), making resistant strains more susceptible. MCTs bypass normal fat digestion and provide quick ketone-based energy, which may help during low-carb Candida diets. Caprylic acid is absorbed in the small intestine, where Candida often colonizes. Finally, we added Mahasudarshan. Mahasudarshan is a bitter, detoxifying, and immune-modulating herb was added because it helps reduce systemic inflammation, improve liver detoxification, and strengthen immunity. Because it is bitter, it can stimulate digestion and bile flow, reducing undigested substrates that feed Candida plus it has antimicrobial and immunomodulatory activity. Because it is detoxifying, it helps the detoxification of fungal metabolites (e.g., acetaldehyde, mannan) and supports liver resilience during antifungal therapy. It also helps to reduce oxidative stress and inflammation triggered by Candida toxins. In resistant Candida protocols, it can help shift the host terrain in favor of antifungal success when layered with stronger direct antifungal agents.
